This Nikki Heat story drove me nuts! I ate it up and when I came to the end, I was gutted! There was another book to follow and it wouldn't be out for ages.

The whole disgracing of Nikki was good and well planned out. Nikki's relationship with Castle was great and unfortunately, there's not much more I can say without wanting to tell you the ending. A brilliant read.

A fun read for fans of Castle that play with some ideas and characters from the show. True Castle fans (watch every episode) will see some similarities and a little bit of crossover between the two.

Murder, betrayal, friendship, love, dirty cops, survival...this book was one big roller coaster ride and I loved it. I also really enjoyed its setting in New York City and the details of buildings and land marks that made it into the story. I found myself googling a lot of these land marks to see what they looked like and to figure out if I had ever seen them while I was in the city years ago.
I wish we got to read more about the Perry/Heat friendship, but I think I remember there is more of that in the next bunch of books.
Glad I read this book a second time. Did not disappoint!

I find these books very entertaining. Real actor, plays author on show, fake author writes books on show, books are published in real life, books contain references to real actor's pervious television series.

"What can I day? I'm an enigma inside a conundrum inside a condom."

Um, LOVE the Firefely reference...

"Sure, guess I could give you a bullwhip and a fedora. We'd market you as Indiana Bones. Or maybe go sci-fi. You sorta look like that guy who roamed outer space everybody's so crazy about." "Malcolm Reynolds?" asked Rook. "Who?...No, I'm thinking we give you a space helmet and some assless chaps and call you...Butt Rogers."

I have to say, this is my favorite out of this series so far.

Why do I read them, knowing they are just another mercy outlet for the show Castle? Because they are a fun and quick read; and I enjoy them.

Yes they have police procedure anthem, but it's not heavy in the weeds like a lot of other books in this genre. Being an easy read, in a genre I like, is sometimes a must after heavy hitting book or two.

Even though they are a little hokey with the attributing the writing credit to the fictional character, I love all the Castle books and this one was no exception. The intrigue and conspiracy that lead up to a higher authority within NYPD was suspenseful enough to keep you turning the pages as well as shocking. I do like the parallels between the captain in the story versus what happened in the TV show and still had tears when it got to that emotional part. Also, I don't want to give too much away but I will warn there is a bit of a cliffhanger. Not sure why it ended the way it did but I am eager to see what happens next.

This one is my favorite in the series so far. It compliments so well what was going on in the show at the time and enhances it for fans. And there were lots of little nods to the show and the actors in this book as well. For example Rook says, "I really am ruggedly handsome, aren't I?" And it's also suggested that Rook looks like the tv character Malcolm Reynolds :) And there are many more; I love it!

Way better than the 2nd. A good mystery with lot of action and unravelled in the very last pages.
By the reading of those 3 volumes, I came to the conclusion that the books are the same quality as the TV serie. Well written, fast read, untertaining, but not remarkable books I would keep on my (real) shelf.
