Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book had a ton of tropes I HATE! I honestly thought I would end up DNFing this novel, I will say though Amber Lynn Natusch has a way with her stories. Pretty much as soon as I decided to DNF the book o0o0o0o0o it got so good.

I couldn't put it down for the last 1/2 to 1/4 of the book. It was just so enthralling. Most of the twists and turns I could kind of predict a bit, not to the fullest potential but at least a bit. The main plot twist in this novel I did not see coming, not even the slightest. My brain went the complete opposite direction.

The ending of this book leads me to believe it could end up being a series and with that said I would read the hell out of a sequel!

This book sure surprised me!

If the last book threw me across the room, this one THREW ME INTO MY NEIGHBOR'S YARD. When I thought it couldn't get any better - it did!

After the events of the last book, we see Ky evolve from an impulsive teenage detective to cautious young woman (for the most part). Now that she sees the consequences that her actions could cause, she starts to withdraw & keep more and more secrets to herself. She does find help in the form of an FBI agent (and possible love interest) - but the burden on her soul is strong in this installment. All the odds were stacked against her, but she persevered to help others.

Once again, this book was a perfect balance between action-packed, suspenseful scenes & Ky's school-life / off-the-book detective work.

I loved the development we got from old & new flames - without the romance overpowering everything else in Ky's life. A lot of the concerns I had from the last book were addressed, and I am satisfied with the way it played out. It is clear that both love interests respect her as a person, and give her space whenever she needs it. I won't tell you all who I'm rooting for but I can't wait to see what further developments are made!

Most of the loose ends from the last book were tied up, but this book brought more questions that need answers. I cannot wait to see where Ky's story takes me next!

I nearly missed out in reading this book because it wasn't on TBR shelf.

I still love Dawson and Kylene's banter, partnership and chemistry.

The book has a consistent pace that has enough sub-plot so that you don't get bored of the whole teen detective aspect.

We better get the third book.

Wow, I forgot how much I love this series. The whole ‘teen detective’ thing works perfectly, and is in no way cheesy or dumbed down because it is from a female perspective. Everything about this book was perfectly timed and broke down the events that occurred in both the previous book and this one, while still having the consistant need to prove that Kylene’s father is innocent.

This was one heck of a ride. This book picks up right where the last novel ended, so it does flash back to previous events. The characters are more present, and I feel that we get to know some of them a bit better. Garrett is still the sweetest, Agent Dawson is the perfect young FBI agent that I would love to read more about, and AJ is trying to fix everything, and Tabby (my fav Canadian) is still her perky self.

This is fast-paced and will have you sitting on the edge of your seat to find out who is the one hiding the dark secrets. Which, just so you are aware, I didn’t guess at first. After concluding, I am really really hoping for there to be a third book, because it does end on a slight cliffhanger.

If you enjoy thrilling reads that involve a little creep factor that will send chills down your arm, I highly reccomend this!

I enjoyed this book, although I was hoping for a little more when it came to the plot.
I was shipping a relationship that didn't happen.
I was left wanting more, I really hope there will be a squeal.

*I got this book for review from the publisher*

I really did enjoy the sequel book to this series. I really was enjoyed both the smaller mystery but also the larger mystery focused on Kaylene dad. I really did like all the friendship. dynamics that were developed. I will i am a sucker for blast from the past romance and I am likening the unlikely ship of A.J and Keylene. I thought the smaller mystery was super well crafted and hard to predict. I found the read to be super fast pace read. As the for the lead character she is def a antihero but she is growing on me and I really am excited to read more books in this series. I also would say if you like series like 13 reasons why and Veronica mars, this might be a good series to check out!
