This book and my reading of it saddens me, the series, the original trilogy with always hold a special place in my heart but I just don't connect with this book at all.

'Seer of Sevenwaters' is Sibeal's story in the series 'Sevenwaters' by Juliet Marillier. It is the fifth book following the ruling family of Sevenwaters and it told from the view points of daughters of the family over different generations. Sibeal has aways been the quiet and introspective one of her sisters, it feels like she has always know that she would follow the Druidic path and end up living in the Nemtons. But shortly before she is to commit herself fully her mentor and kinsmen Ciaran sends her to Isla Enis, her cousin Johnny's island school for warriors for the summer. While there she witness a shipwreck, where there is only three survivors. She is drawn to confused young man who does not remember who he is or where he is from. She feels connected to the only woman survivor and sets to trying to understand this odd woman that does not speak. Before long both begin to make Sibeal question her life path and much she has always assumed.

I can't believe how much I had to force myself to pick up this book. I was completely bored that it even took the joy of seeing all the old regular characters away. I actually liked Sibeal in 'Child of the Prophecy' and in 'Heir to Sevenwaters', I feel like this was a completely different character and this story makes no sense what's so ever in the continuation of the overall family tale. There's just the tiny drop in the end about Cathal that connects it any. Also adding in Felix's point of views, was almost pointless to me, he didnt add anything to the story. Both were whinny self pitying boring characters. At the beginning Sibeal is described pretty closely to who we've come to know Liadan as but throughout the story we see her as nothing like her at all. Theres no strong female vibe, theres nothing hinting at take charge, chart my own course, master of my own destiny that feel from any of the women previous. She felt like a wet blanket and made a huge splat.

I will continue on with 'Flame of Sevenwaters' fingers crossed it is nothing like this one.

These books are comfy cozy to read in the winter. I think because it has fae, druids, gorgeous Old World tales, and swoony men and headstrong ladies.

In this one, I enjoyed watching Maeve and Felix's relationship blossom into one of care and understanding. I enjoyed the mystery and the danger involving a secret, a maiden, and a mysterious island.

I don't care that they all have happy endings that the daughters find loved ones to be with. They are pretty romantic fantasies that focus a lot on character development and that's what makes me happy.

Adoro conhecer melhor as personagens secundárias da saga de Sevenwaters. E melhor ainda, sabemos o que aconteceu a Cathal e Clodagh depois de Herdeiro de Sevenwaters.

As usual, Marillier does a wonderful job at enthralling the reader with magic, and lore. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating was because the plot was sort of predictable, having read the rest of the Sevenwaters series. Nonetheless, my heart weeps and smiles at the same time.

This was okay, but I didn't enjoy as much as the previous books in the series. Even for a Marillier book, it was painstakingly slow.

I am finding that as the series goes on, it feels much like the same story over and over again. The first couple books in the series really sparkled for me, the last few books but have grown to feel quite repetitive. I have also been less and less impressed with the narration as I listen to the audiobooks--though I have not let that impact my rating.

Oh, no! This storyline wasn’t the strongest in the series marathon.
That being said... there is one book left in the series... (and I’m willing to cross that finish line.)
