I disliked every character, every interaction, every moment of this book. It is incomprensible to me how this story of superficial desires caught me in just 150 pages. However, i will always love a book that makes me dislike characters. I guess this was the point when it was written, you're not "supposed' to like Gatsby, moreover, I believe everyone who read this has thought, at least once, 'what is wrong with you?'

It has also strengthen my hatred for rich people.

I suspect this is one of those books everyone who knows me suspects I will hate - it's about people behaving badly, after all. That said, there is a reason this is an enduring classic. It is so well written that even listening to it as an Audio book, some phrases seemed to stop time for me. The character who tells this story, Nick, is the least offensive of the humans in the story, so that helps as well. But the real 'hero' of this story is the prose - the way Fitzgerald describes people, setting and the liquor soaked passage of time is beautiful and never repetitive.
Every person who reads this is going to take away something different, and while Fitzgerald may have been cautioning us about a lifestyle and class of people who don't really exist anymore, what I took away was the danger of a life with no purpose. If you live only to please yourself, not only will you be unfulfilled, but there's a good chance you will screw up the lives of all around you.

Bastante decente... Diria unos 3.5 estrellas, una buena historia bien escrita, pero no me mato, le falto sentimiento, pero creo que es justamente lo que quiere transmitir...
