Very good. Not my favourite Augusten Burroughs, though. Heartbreaking in so many ways and terrifying. Makes you want to be a better parent.

Didn't have the heart his other novels had. I think the epilogue could have been cut as well

I just finished A Wolf at the Table, and Augusten Burroughs still remains at the top of my favorite authors list. While reading every word, all I kept thinking was, "this book needed to be written (by him), this story was going to be told." He has a gift and I'm thankful he shares it with the rest of us.

I've been on a big Augusten Burroughs kick the last few months - determined to read everything he's written. 50 pages in, this was my least favorite one, but by the end, this wrenching and frighteningly honest book, although somewhat awkward and without any of the wit or humor of some of his more palatable work, was keeping me awake at night and in my head all day. It's really disturbing and, again, just so honest. It seems like this book must have been very hard to write and although it's not easy to read, I think it's an important part of his catalog.
