3.5. Personally think what would've made it better if Denard never told Tyra about the "trick" but other than that, I really enjoyed and I'm looking forward to the other books I have from her on my tbr.

Trick
This story was all over the place. The he couple went from a crappy date to randomly sleeping together. The author made sure to mention multiple times that the guy next to them was a “white dude” which was completely unnecessary. The dialogue was stale and boring. I also don’t understand why this is considered a Halloween story just because it was Halloween time and they went on a hayride. Overall the book was meh.

Wait this was so cute and hot!
Two people are set up on a date by their friend. At first the chemistry wasn’t quite there but oh boy did it get there and it was sooooo good! If you’re a sucker for a good shower scene, I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Tyra & Denard
I’m so happy that we got a chance to really see Tyra and Denard. We got a taste of them in A Flick between Friends. They are the best friends to Star and Lennox. We saw a little attraction between the two but this novella here gave us more. It’s true when they say opposites attract because Denard was not Tyra type but getting to know him and really seeing him for him changed her mind. I loved these two together and would love to see more of them. This short story was good and it makes you want more.

Too short to be anything by ok. Fun little Halloween read. Took about 15 mins to get through.

I wanted a short, Halloween, and this story was that, but that’s about where my enjoyment of it ended. The writing was honestly just not very good. It was almost painful to read, and I felt like I lost several brain cells. Thank goodness it was only 30 pages. Any longer and it would’ve been a DNF.
