So I don't ever plan to eat fully keto. BUT, I do have Type II diabetes, and I have been struggling to find main-dish recipes that are heavy on the vegetables, that sound tasty, and that aren't afraid of some damn fat. Because I believe good fats are super essential. I super enjoyed the information at the front of the book, and the author's ideas about health, including this one simple line that brought me to a full stop: "You can't heal a body you hate."

Anyway, this book has a lot of recipes that seem completely sensible, based on actual whole foods, and tasty, while being easily adaptable if you don't love all the ingredients.

I'd give him 5 stars but ... vegan cheese? Really? And dude, stop COOKING avocados, that's just gross. But otherwise I'm excited by all the creative, low-carb, plant based recipes.

Lots of good information and easy to see how to implement this diet. I’m tracking my carbs and cutting back now so I can try this without getting a Keto flu. I thought the supplement information was especially helpful. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 as the recipes aren’t the best. I can make my own meal plans and have other recipes to follow but I was disappointed to see so many fish and egg recipes and nothing with tempeh or nuts (like nut cheese).

I love this book. I actually have read it twice this year and have learned so much each time I read it. I am a huge lover of keto, but I also believe alot of people do it in an unhealthy way. This book has you eat tons of veggies, whole foods, healthy fats, and the recipes are simple and super tasty! Highly recommend to anyone doing keto, or any plant based eaters.

It was okay, honestly. I used to be super interested in the ketogenic lifestyle until I realized I don't really want to eat that way, and making it plant-based just makes it even more restrictive. I eat a fairly low-carb diet as it is, so this had some good recipes but it's not a lifestyle for me.

This book encompasses many of the feelings I've had after living paleo, like feeling it was a lot of animal products. I've thought about doing keto but it can sometimes be even more animal products as well. I also appreciated the thorough explanations from the author about nutrients and intermittent fasting. I'm excited to give this a try soon!

This is pretty much my diet. Glad I'm doing things right.

High on the fad quotient and all over the map, with an inconsistent reliance on sound scientific evidence for the recommendations made.

I'm not sure how to review this book exactly. I am going to try the methods layed out within and then perhaps my rating would change. It's accessible, well-written enough (though a bit...hokey at times), and the information seems solid enough though I am too lazy to check any of the sources. Much of what Cole talks about aligns with other sources I've read anyway, so I don't have any reason to doubt the science without trying the method. I have already been Intermittent Fasting for a couple months, but haven't seen any results really, so I'm curious if following this kind of diet will help me shred some persistent fat and get me hired to star in some Marvel movies. Feeling more healthy would also be a plus.
