Joanne Froggatt narrated well.

Thought all characters ghastly and story tedious.

Above this peasant's head! ☹️

This is the book that got me into reading. I really felt each character as I read each page. It was with this book that I learned that I see a movie playing out in my mind when I read, and not just the words on the page. This is a book I reread just to remember where my love of reading started!

If you've never read it, you really ought too. It starts slow, but don't give up. Emily Bronte is a beautiful writer; what a shame she didn't share more with us. My good friend re-reads this book every January and I'll be joining from here on out! I loved my return trip to the moors.

This book just does not hold up well. I wanted to strangle every single character. Every. One. Other than this, the language and plot just doesn't suit me. I guess I am just too modern for this classic.

this book is horrifying and creepy, I mean, what kind of life is that? and the characters, how could so many terrible people hang around in one place? there is not one good person in this book and honestly, I have no idea what the fuss is all about

The two main characters are the most awful people I have ever read about. WHY do we want to read about them??? Why do we care enough to invest ourselves in this book? I hated it. I think, in retrospect, Hitler had more shining qualities than Heathcliff. UGH!!!
