I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand I love the idea of exploring BDSM and embracing your sexuality.  Jack was a great dominant and I definitely enjoyed his perspective more. On the flip side, Morgan's inner monologues made me want to scream at her and I was screaming at this book. She was so whiny and I get that having certain things said to you can affect you but she took it too far. She was annoying for most of the book and I just wish her character would have developed a bit more. I also wish we would have seen more of her in action with her TV show because I think that would have been really cool. I know this wasn't going to be plot heavy, but she could have worked in more content for the show while she was being hidden. I did like the little mystery aspect and it definitely kept the tension up. I have to say I did enjoy the spice as well. Which if you're looking for heavy spice, this is your book.  I also would have loved more of Jack's backstory and such, but hopefully I'll see him again in the series. Am I going to continue reading the series? Absolutely. I liked this one, but it was hard with such a petulant FMC.

This had a frustrating amount of potential, which never quite seemed to be fulfilled. The actual sex scenes were really well written and I did enjoy the plot, however, there is only so many times I can read the characters exhausting, lengthy descriptions of reflection regarding everyyyyy decissssionnnn they makeeeeee like just ADMIT YOU LIKE IT AND HAVE SEX ALREADY. BE TRUTHFUL WITH EACH OTHER. the stalker could’ve been enough drama without the revenge twist as well

I felt like Morgan just repeatedly slut shamed herself and her kinks even though she was having sex with Jack anyway?

I know this books main goal was to be sexy and it really did do that. There were A LOT of sex scenes and as I said before they were well written but I could’ve done without the insistent overthinking from each character

I liked this book but I fell short of loving it because Morgan annoyed me. Her character had no confidence in her sexuality but confidence in the rest of her life and that annoyed me. I liked Jack, I liked the supporting characters. I thought his revenge was a bit twisted but I could get beyond that. I liked the suspense and the action and I was trying to guess who her stalker was the whole time. In the end I liked it but I didn't love it.

For my friend challenge this month, we choose this series. We both have read some of the books and wanted to finish this series.

Since I didn’t remember any of the stories thought I would do a relisten.
Also I guess I didn’t review them either so this is the perfect time to do that too.
Morgan is coming to terms with who and what she wants in her personal life. She has a stalker and is seeking safety with her step brother but he is leaving and she finds herself in Jack’s sights. He is kind of the perfect person for her to be with at this time because he is a bodyguard but he is he-l –l bent on revenge against her step brother. Unfortunately Morgan is oblivious.
I enjoyed most of the book the one part that I was like scratching my head was the “missionary vanilla stuff” it felt like it was all a show. Like he can’t speak she can’t speak while having missionary I think it was a little manipulative on Jack’s part. And when Morgan finally opens up about what she wants he also freaks out and makes her feel bad for having her wants. So I wasn’t a big fan of Jacks there.

The ending was great. I liked the narration but I really think these books would be way better with a male’s voice maybe Duet or Dual narration.

This book is terrible. If I am going to read a romance-type book, I expect it to consist of about 75% plot/relationship issues and 25% romance. This book was the inverse of that. And what little plot there is, makes no sense. As for the romance, I actually skipped over a couple of chapters because it was BORING me. Do not recommend.

MMC is supposed to be a highly experienced dom but has no understanding of boundaries and consent. He's a manipulative bully who shows no respect for the FMC. The entire book felt like they were on the edge of getting it, maybe now it's about to get good, so I kept pushing. Wasn't worth finishing. Setting also felt contrived. While I've never been to New Orleans or lived in the swamp, I know enough to tell the author hasn't either. But if you like your MMC to be repeatedly described as smelling like swamp as he steamrolls the reasonable concerns and objections of your FMC while he
Spoilersecretly records her having sex with him and sends it to a third party without her knowledge or consent
then this is the book for you!

Wanted this to be better. It kept popping up on recommended lists. But the main characters do most of their personal development in their own heads instead of having actual conversation with each other. That means some of the sex feels non-consensual, especially in the beginning of the book. We know she’s into it because we get to read her thoughts, but out loud she’s actually saying no. I think I’ve been spoiled by writers like Cherise Sinclair who fully understand boundaries, safe words, consent, etc.

This felt a little long, but in saying that, I loved every long minute. Suspense, drama, romance and dominance. Who could want more?
