I don’t know why people were so mad about this book!!! I couldn’t put it down.

The reality is, Natalie’s choice back on That Night was something that could have happened in real life, and the way folks treated her he whole life is also probable for a real life situation. I agree it was unsettling that no one validated her in making the call to the cops. Her brother did apologize and did at the end say it was his fault for bringing illegal drugs. I thought it was a realistic telling of what a divided family may do in a situation like this.

I am also a Santa Cruz California girl and minored in environmental studies so this just hit so close to home with the marine biology themes.

I loved this book so much.

This book is different than my usual “beach” read, but I loved it! The characters change a lot through the story, and there is just enough of a twist in the plot to keep you wanting to read more. Looking forward to reading more by this author!

For some reason I expected something different, more suspenseful, but I enjoyed it all the same.  Audiobook kept me tuned in which isn’t always easy.

not a bad book, not the best. was very slow moving until about halfway through, so much so that i wondered what the plot was a few times. at some heights of tension, the writing can feel unnatural.

Ehh I won’t downgrade the book as bad as some of the comments because when I read either I liked it or I didn’t then I move on. But I don’t know I didn’t know what to expect but even so I wanted to like it. I had to stop at “3 years in prison because of you” I can’t do the blame game especially if what you did was indeed a reason to be put in jail.
