Every time I read one of Tess Thompson’s Cliffside Bay books, I fall a little more in love with the town and the characters. Lance and Mary’s story is amazing. I love how each book deals with a different couple - it’s great to learn about all of the characters in the series. I can’t wait for the next one!

I adored Lance and Mary’s book! I’m going to say it again...this series is absolutely amazing...I don’t know how Ms. Thompson does it, but she plops you right into the books with all of the characters. I knew Mary and Lance being together wouldn’t go over too well with Lance’s friends and family....Mary sorta burned her bridges when she was introduced to the group. I love how Lance was right there every step of the way with her when she tried to forge friendships with everyone. Of course there are secrets, drama, and an evil person pops back up...everything that makes this book perfect! Definite one click!!

I'm an avid book lover at heart so reading this book helped remind me of some of my favorites. When I was younger the book that really made me fall in love with reading was Anne of Green Gables. I loved Anne's spunk and her imagination. I LOVED Gilbert and his love for Anne. The fact that Lance recognized that he's Gilbert made me love him even more (not that I wasn't already in love with him). He was willing to patiently fight for the love that he truly wanted. Mary is definitely a head strong Anne. She didn't think that she was worthy of true love, even with her best friend. This was a great ending to the Dogs. We got to see them all happy, in love, and with families of their own. I also want to thank the author for answering a question I had from Kyle's book. Though this book had some heart-wrenching parts I felt that it really completed the series. Now on to new adventures for these wonderful couples. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

This is Book #5 in the Cliffside Bay series. It is always great to be back in Cliffside Bay with the Dogs and the Wags. I really enjoyed this book about Lance and Mary. Mary has been dealt with some trauma that she has been having issues overcoming. Lance is by her side waiting for her to love him. He just has to be patient. She doesn’t think she deserves his love.

I loved this series especially when the old characters from the previous books are mentioned!

Lance Mullen is one of those men we all need in our lives. He is kind and thoughtful, determined, handsome and a family man. It could go on and on about all of Lance's wonderful traits. His best trait though is his love for Mary and how he will do anything to make her admit they need one another in their lives forever. Mary is a woman who you start off questioning, you aren't sure she is likable but as soon as you hear her story it is clear as day that she is mostly misunderstood by others and the rest of it is her distrust of others and her sheer determination to not get hurt again. This story will warm your heart, I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did!

Tainted was a wonderful love story! Once again Tess rocked it! Mary had a rough first marriage and lost a baby prematurely. Lance is the boy next door that is constantly in the friend zone. But a surprise pregnancy shows them the way to eat other and how much they need each other in this crazy thing called life.

Tainted is the 5th book in the Cliffside Bay series by Tess Thompson. Even though this book is part of a series, it reads as a standalone. This book is the story of Lance and Mary. Their story is full of friendships, love, loss, fear and courage. Tess knows how to make the reader feel as they are part of this wonderful town. I care about every character and their story. Thank you Tess Thompson and the publisher for an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

With her 5th Cliffside Bay book, Tess Thompson, dives right into the story. No descriptions of the scenery or slowly building up of emotions and events, but rather a rollercoaster ride right into the thick of things.
Mary Hansen has got to be one of Tess Thompson's most damaged heroines. She's been let down by every man in her life and refuses to believe any man can be trustworthy, until she meets Lance.
Lance has always been a background man - part of the Dogs, but on his own. He's spent his whole life in his big, famous brother's shadow and has found that women are only interested in him because of his brother. He is probably, in my opinion, one of the most level-headed men in the Dogs because of this.
The story moves very fast and touches on a very emotional topic - miscarriage - which I as a mother believe is something every pregnant women fears. The story also brings in finding one's way back to God when you've been at the bottom of the pit and seeing His Hand in your life.
It takes an incredibly brave author to create a series like Cliffside Bay knowing that each book is NOT a standalone story. I applaud her.
If you are looking for a clean, feel good, real life romance series - don't look any further than Cliffside Bay. Reading order is (1) Traded; (2) Deleted; (3) Jaded ; (4) Marred & (5) Tainted.
I for one am looking forward to the next trip to Cliffside Bay in 2019.
PS -The case of the missing keys in book 4 is solved in book 5.

Tainted: Lance & Mary is the 5th book in the Cliffside Bay series. We have been introduced to Lance and Mary in previous books and she was not well liked by the “Dogs” & “Wags”. In this book you learn why Mary has been so guarded and sad. Lance is a good guy that has been able to see another side of Mary and wants to win her heart. This is a heartwarming story of friendship, hope and love. I have really enjoyed reading this series and getting to know the “Dogs” and the “Wags”. I am sad that this “era” is ending but I am looking forward to reading what is next! Thanks for the ARC copies Tess Thompson!
