I liked this book and enjoyed reading it but it was a little boring and nothing all too memorable.

It’s been a while since I’ve read the other books in the series, so I don’t really remember them that well to be able to say which book my favourite was.

Though I’m happy with how the series wrapped up with Darcy, I was not really a big fan of how the story played out. The initial conflicts seemed very force and I didn’t really get the same swoon worthy feelings about our hero as I did with the other books. I appreciate the theme of how Darcy cares so much for the community that pretty much saved her as a child from feeling abandoned but it felt like that was the only character trait about her and it was heavily pushed down our throats. Logan on the other had I felt had a bit more balanced approach to the way he was battling his past but it was still a bit on the extreme side by the time the we got closer to the end of the book. Overall I’m really happy I finished out the series though this one was probably my least favorite of the bunch.

Audiobook Audible Included.

Last book in the series. Overall I really loved this series. This book was by far my least favorite. There was a few times when I wanted to stop listening to it but I kept on because it was the last book. If this had been the first book instead of the last I'm sure I wouldn't have listened to the rest of the series. If I had been reading it I probably wouldn't have finished. I'm a lot more forgiving of plot in audiobooks when I'm stuck in the car listening.

Listening to Shane East is probably another huge reason why I finished this book. I just love his voice. The female narrator was not my favorite. This was my first time listening to her. I didn't hate her voice, it was actually nice to listen to, but I just didn't feel like it fit the character I pictured for Darcy in my head, since she had previously been in several books before in this series. Her voice sounded older than I pictured Darcy and maybe just too posh British (which I get Darcy was) but I just had a hard time with it. I felt like she should be reading a Jane Austen novel or something. I was actually dreading listening to spicy scenes in her voice but thankfully most of the spicy stuff seemed to be from the guys POV.

Speaking of spice. Sure this book had spice but I felt like it had a lot less spice than the rest of the books in the series.

The first like 40% of the book I got SUPER tired of hearing Darcy taking about how much Logan was going to ruin the village. I got it, but there was just too much of it. I also got annoyed by how many times Logan thought about how much Darcy wasn't his type physically at all. We get it dude calm down.

Maybe it was both characters being British? There was no fish out of water in that regards, just big city and small town differences. I don't know.

I was going to give it 3 stars which is super rare from me, I'm nice hahaha but the last maybe 20% convinced me to give it a 4. It's probably more like a 3.5 for me. It got an extra star just for listening to Shane East dirty talking.

I do think Logan's turn around after the end drama was a bit too sudden but I will allow it.

It's finally Darcy's time for love. Darcy is Ryder's sister from the Duke of Manhattan and has spent her life devoted to her home and village of Woolton. A chance meeting while on a ride on the grounds at the spot she used to play with her brother as a child brings Logan into her very safe world.

Logan is a mover and a shaker. A man that knows exactly what he wants from life. He wants to restore the family home for his grandmother that raised him. He wants to build his business and life while helping others. And he wants to do all those things while not making the same mistakes as his father. He'll find his success and satisfaction in life with no strings female companionship.

There's a lot of fighting between Darcy and Logan. Darcy is adamant that Woolton remain the small close knit community that she can remember. She detests the city people coming in to change the village only to abandon it. Logan wants to build something of his very own instead of the acquiring business and making them successful. He submits plans to build a resort of sorts for Londoners to come and stay in the country. It would be a win-win, because it would employ those in the community and bring in some revenue. Darcy has strong opinions and fights him every step of the way.

Finally the tension breaks, and as always, Louise Bay knows how to bring the spark with her characters. While Darcy's attitude grated on me for a good portion of the book, it's what makes Bay's writing so good. I kept wanting to see how she'd draw me in and root for these characters. And never to disappoint, she does just that. By the time Bay got these characters together, I was all in. I can't wait for the next Bay masterpiece.
