"Her own struggles had taught her that one never truly knew the inner tumult carried by others."

The premise was fun - Anne enlisting Harry's help in catching the eye of eligible bachelors, succeeding in doing so (including Harry himself).

Unfortunately, this book shares several flaws with the first one in the series - repetitive thoughts/reflections from the main characters (Harry's generalising thoughts about women and Anne's self-pity based on how others view her) and here and there a weird usage of comma. The commas feel so careless, as the book is otherwise well written - as if no one has proof-read the book.

I was prepared to give this book three stars based on the chemistry between Anne and Harry. However, I lost interest towards the end and was annoyed by the complete lack of communication.

Better than the last, but like the ending could be cut.

I loved this! And I hated her family, good thing I didn't read the previous book with the sister because I found her and her husband exasperating. At least they were better than the mother, she was such an annoying self-centered woman I swear her tragic past didn't excuse her horrible behavior.

I must add I loved harry he was so cute and caring, although at times at the ending I wanted to shake him to make him realize Anne loved him but to be fair what she told him was really horrible (even if she was doing it thinking in his happiness) so I don't blame him.

Also I HATED how nobody in Anne's family valued him he treated him horrible and Anne never defended him, he deserved way more appretiation. I must clear that Anne did appreciate him almost since the beginnin, only her family was the judgmental one, and it isn't excuse they thought they were protecting Anne because they never even asked her if she loved him, well only the mother but obviously Anne wasn't going to tell the truth to her when she would have given hell and judge her and probably insulted Anne if she said she cared for Harry.

End of the rambling.
I liked this a lot.

I had higher hopes for this one. It was a decent read but I needed the heroine to be stronger. I REALLY needed someone to put their darned mother in her place. I needed the couple to stinking talk to one another. I was actually a bigger fan of the Earl than I thought I would be, him being a scoundrel and all, but his development was well done with this book. I absolutely hated how is once 'best friend' treated him however and have no idea how they got to that point. A lot of people owe this guy apologies.

Anne a character in her sister's book touted to be strong and determined just doesn't live up to that through the majority of the book. She quits too easily when things get hard and doesn't step up to put people in their place or ask questions. I wanted to like her so much more than I ultimately did.

The romance of course worked out in the end and I am happy for it, but I hoped for more. I am really hoping I get the Duke of Crawford's story, he was one of the mere interesting spots for me in this story.

Well, I am glad I gave this book a shot. I thought the first book of the series was good, but this one was better. I found myself a lot more invested in the characters of this story, and I quite like Lady Anne.
Maybe the "teach me how to seduce a man - oops I fell in love with you" trope is nothing new, but I thought in this case it was well executed, even if I found some parts a bit confusing nearing the end. Honestly, some things were repeated a lot, and that kind of made me loose a bit of the focus.
But overall it was very enjoyable.
