Was a bit skeptical starting reading this book but I was pulled into it with such a lovely force. I don't know if many people will love the harsh way a girl is befriended with loneliness, but you will keep wondering how can they still keep coming at her. She will stare at many backs from those that detested her but she will keep going proving them wrong. The last pages will be carried with you forever.

By far one of the best books I have read. My heart went out to Kya throughout the whole book and I was rooting for her through and through. The book was heartwarming and heart wrenching all at the same time. The ending was perfect and I could not think of a better way to end this book. Murder mystery, romance, biology, homelessness, identity, this book has a little bit of everything. Absolutely stunning.

Cringe and uncomfortable underage sex scenes. I loved the descriptions of the marsh, but overall this one wasn't for me.

Such an atmospheric and beautiful read, I absolutely loved the descriptions of the scenery and what they meant for Kya.
Kya's story definitly had me in my feelings and the murder had me guessing who did it in-between, but I felt like the main focus was on her life and how the surroundings played such a huge role in it.
All in all a great scenic story, an atmospheric read with the tension of a murder mystery woven in.
Allthough the ending wasn't really surprising to me, I still think it was fitting.

Couldn't be bothered by the story. None of the emotions Kya went through touched me. Also it felt quite sexist and maybe racist? Anyway, the other negative reviews explain it better.
