Five stories about women and their experiences with life, loss, food, and love among other things. This was a lovely and super quick read that managed to capture both quiet moments and sweeping life lessons with just a few stories.

"All of them had lived within that flow, and though each of us might strive or struggle against the current, we were all, in the end, part of the same water."

I enjoyed these mundane characters in situations that lie in the spectrum of mundane to surreal. The characters seemed hyper-realistic, having extremely human reactions that I might not expect to read in a work of fiction. The works varied in content, but had similar emotional textures of nostalgia, hope, sadness, regret... and I felt each of them resolved if not narratively than emotionally.
