Not sure why I read this and am contemplating the next one... I guess it's a trainwreck, and I can't look away. But dear lord, the romance is heavy-handed instalove.

Liked it, but the recap of everything was rather irritating at the beginning. And because of it being a short story, it wasn't very good either.

A small view into the journey back to Neverever.
I wonder if the Hunter makes an appearance later on ?

Spoiler This novella bridges the gap between the first and second book of the Iron Fey series. It was an okay short story that fills in some details before Meghan has to go to the Unseelie Court after agreeing to do so in the first book.

It’s a fast and quick read and has some little moments that are quite nice, but over all nothing very exciting happens in the book.

Quote I liked:

"The walls were brick, the lights dim and red, casting everything in crimson, and snarling monster heads hung on the walls over the bar."

This was a really good little short story. It definitely helped connect the dots from book one to book two. I hated how Ash left Meghan completely in the dark, but I liked how it showed his struggle with loving Meghan and leaving his family and true nature.

So I wanted to start Iron Daughter and didn't know if I "needed" to read this before beginning ... I didn't. In fact I didn't need to read it at all. It adds a TINY bit of untold story, but half (of the very short story it is) is repeated in Iron Daughter anyway.

If it was free ... ok, maybe go ahead and read it, but do not PAY for it ($2.55 for 55 pages?) or put off continuing on with the story.

Nice little filler between books one and two. Great for bringing me back into the universe after a break before I start book three :)
