Slightly more comprehensible than book 1. Just as wild. Would recommend

Overall, a strong conclusion to the narrative. I prefer the first book but I wasn’t disappointed.
Read if you…
Read if you…
- Read the first book and liked it
- Are looking for some answers
Skip if you…
- Really struggled with the writing style or pacing in the first book (it’s pretty similar here)
You should probably read it. You’re already invested, right? 😉
How I remember it…
I found a lot of this book very enjoyable to read. The pacing and writing style felt similar to the first book. However, this book maintains a more consistent plot-driven narrative than the first. I liked the humanizing character development and relationships. I missed the twisted dark academia feeling from book 1 in the series. Overall a satisfying ending to this arch.

If I leant a friend this book…
I’d probably tell them that I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first book but that I thought it was worth the read and that the conclusion was satisfying.

this picks up where vita nostra leaves off, and while i did really like this, i also felt that it was missing something that made me adore vita nostra. it's still an extremely interesting read and sequel, and i look forward to re-reading it, because there's definitely a lot to chew on here.
