Chris Carter's Detective Robert Hunter Series is addictive.  His writing is superb.  He grabs you at the beginning and leaves you hang for more by the end of the book.  His book are a little gruesome at times, so if you have a weak stomach beware.  But, then again, they are thrilling, addictive and edge of your seat ride.

Hunter and Garcia, his partner, are called to a homicide scene.  When they get there, they are meet by a lieutenant that tells them, "Thirty-seven years in the force, and if I was allowed to choose just one thing to erase from my mind, what's inside that room would be it.". It is one of the most shocking crime scenes they have ever seen.  Unexpectedly, they soon join forces with the FBI to track down a serial killer.  This serial knows no bounds.  He cross state lines because he believes he is making art.

The 'Gallery of the Dead' is the 9th book in the Detective Robert Hunter Series.  I would suggest you read them in order, as Carter sometimes brings things from previous books into the story.  If enjoy a good psychological thriller, you need to read this series.

☺️ Happy Reading ☺️

As always, Carter delivers interesting methods of murders committed by the serial killer. However, other than that, it was quite a mediocre book. The twist was expected and kinda boring.

I was staying at an AirBnB when I saw the name "Chris Carter" sitting on the shelf. As far as I knew, Chris Carter created the X-Files and I was down to read this random book. As I got into it, I was completely hooked, but it didn't FEEL like X-Files. Sure enough, I did some research and he just happens to have the same name. Luckily, I was already obsessed and spilling over each page. Unfortunately, I had to leave my AirBnB before I finished the book. This book is not exactly an easy find, but I finally got ahold of a copy and started pouring over the pages again. I couldn't put it down.

I feel Robert Hunter is a little hard to relate to and he's almost OP, but he had little moments that brought him back down to Earth.
