Everytime I think Katherine center can’t possibly write another perfect book, she does

YES! Women!

Just seeming to be a straightforward feminist/romance book at first, it really turned into something special right around the last 80 pages and I felt it all.

Love and forgiveness is hard, but growing along with Cassie through the story, you feel empowered right along with her. All women (and yes, men too) should read this. It was sweet and powerful and pulls you right in.

I want to be that kind of person too, Cassie.

I just didn't like any of the characters.  Everyone was incredibly one dimensional; they were their nicknames.  The resolution felt disconnected and like an attempt to wrap things up with shiny happy thoughts only.  I just didn't like it.

I had to read this book because of the female firefighter but I misunderstood and thought it was going to be a memoir. It had that stupid unrealistic “I am the best” writing style, but nevertheless I have to say I enjoyed it. There was inaccuracies but who cares?

I love reading a romance on Valentine’s Day. I struggled to believe some of the core aspects of this book though like why would this kickass woman firefighter fall for the rookie who faints at the sight of blood but there was so much happening that I just went with it and ultimately it won me over. Center is a charming writer but she does seem to overplay her hand. A romance novel though that is ultimately about forgiving those who disappoint us and let us down including ourselves while also dealing with the struggles of being a sexual abuse survivor and the misogyny facing female fighters is one I want to read.

This is a cute rom-com. Cassie lands at a new fire station and immediately can’t take her eyes off the rookie. But her previous fire chief said not to date.

You can 100% see where it’s going and it was cute.
