C.J. Box is a good writer but I didn’t like the protagonist of this book combined with an ending I was no fond of means I might not move onto the next book.

I tried to several times to get into this book, the main character is just so unpleasant I could not get past it.

Thanks to the hit show ‘Big Sky’ I was introduced to C.J Box, and while Big Sky is adapted from book two in this series I always have to start with book one.
When a book is adapted to tv, or the movies, I always do the hard comparison and throw fits about what they changed from the book. While Back of Beyond takes placed before anything in Big Sky I have to say I’m fairly impressed with the similarities they pulled.
Back of Beyond is the book where we meet Danielle, Gracie, Justin, Cody etc. and I am so pleased with this story line. I was captivated by the trip these characters take into Yellowstone national park, and all things “cowboy” that this city girl just doesn’t understand.
I highly recommend Back of Beyond (audio is fabbbbbulous) if you like a good story that keeps you on your toes.
