I will definitely need to reread this with a highlighter and book flags!
He wrote about grief in such a real way that I’ve never seen anyone be able to put into words. So good.

“Grief is like a long valley, a winding valley where any bend may reveal a totally new landscape”.

This was beautiful. Lewis describes his experience of grieving for his wife in a way that really vividly conveyed the emotional and cognitive processes of making meaning from death.

I didn’t enjoy the first foreword (the one not written by his step son), but the rest of the book was good. I appreciate how open he was with us and was thankful for the tonal shift towards the end. Overall, the book was very compelling.
