Overall, it’s a cute story. The characters have chemistry and a connection that you can really feel. It was a touch slow and didn’t have a some earth shattering “third act conflict,” like the first book - at least that directly involved the MCs. Involved Piper’s mom and Gwen more than anything. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing though. There were a few parts that just felt forced, like Piper carrying the photos in her purse at the wedding, which just so conveniently spills and Adam finally sees them and learns of her abuse. We knew they were going to have this conversation at some point, it just felt unrealistic and forced that this was how it went down.
I’m still not sure how I’m feeling about the obvious set up for Jemima and Raif’s book. It was ok at first, with the set up at the newspaper’s office. Not subtle by any means, but tolerable - until the epilogue. Some random drag queen shows up talking about a someone looking for Jemima and a daughter she abandoned in Branson (wherever the fuck that is). That’s a lot of drama that’s just dumped on us when we were getting our HEA bow wrapping things up.

This book was an emotional whirlwind right from the very first page. It tugged on my heart strings, made me feel sad, angry, tense and happy all at the same time.
I absolutely adore this series, it just keeps getting better and better. Dare I say that Adam may be my favourite of the Stone brothers

All the characters are well-developed, and will have you feeling right at home in their quirky little town! Adam and Piper both stole my heart! It’s clear that they are meant to be together, and the painful journey that got them there made them the amazing people the are. Piper’s past was heart-wrenching and definitely brought me to tears, but it made me so proud of her for everything she accomplished for herself and her awesome son! I loved the way Adam exudes compassion and shows his love for those he cares about. He’s so amazing with Ryan!
