Decently spooky book with an interesting twist and consistent throughout. I liked that this didn’t have the usual drop off in believability 3/4 through that so many horror novels have. The plot was steady and holds up. I found Claire’s character to be very irritating, however, and the “I’m broken and dangerous” schtick to be tiresome. Ultimately satisfied with this read, though.

I really enjoyed this one. I don't typically love first person writing style, but in this case it actually worked really well to build the unreliable narrator aspect. The suspense and description of some of the haunting visuals were very strong. I love the concept of this story. But I almost wish there was more blatant horror like I was expecting, but I liked the building tension and spookiness, and I genuinely didn't know how it would play out towards the end.

I loved this! I'm not a fan of horror but love scifi, and this had just the right amount of atmospheric dread to keep me on my toes without making my imagination run wild at night.

The combination of trauma, supernatural elements and survival instinct was spot on.
