Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. I love space and I love spooky, so the premise of this book was super appealing to me. It has early 2000’s haunted house movie vibes, but in space.
I thought the first half of the book was excellent. The second half was okay, but I definitely enjoyed the first half more.
This book wasn’t perfect, but I still had fun reading it! I still would recommend if you’re looking for something spook!

A handful of times, I caught myself thinking about how much I just didn’t like the main character. I was also pretty disappointed that the best part of the first half of the book (the tense, mysterious escalation of what was happening on the Aurora) was just written off in the second half of the book with “I don’t remember”. I feel like there was so much potential!

The imagery of all the graphic scenes and descriptions of the interior of ships was good. Some things felt predictable and I could not like the main protagonist.

First half is killer suspense and growing dread, while the second half is much more mechanical and makes some strange structural choices that I think were intended to make things less predictable but inadvertently bypass the stuff I was most interested in seeing more of. Still, a very fun read I would’ve torn through far quicker had other favors (i.e., I got COVID, lol) got in the way. As shaky (and occasionally pedestrian) as the writing can be, this absolutely scratched the itch I had for “scary spaceship vibes,” so consider it a 4-star read if you ever find yourself with a similar craving.

Omg I really loved this. It was spooky and creepy, but I also feel in love with the characters and felt for them. It made me emotional at one point. Also there’s a bit of a romance and I ate it up, I loved it. This was such an interesting concept and so creepy and intriguing. I didn’t read the comparison and as I was reading I was like it’s like Titanic but in space and everyone losing it. I enjoyed reading this so much that I wanted to read it but I didn’t want it to end and I didn’t want anything to happen to the characters so I would post pone reading it. I’m so happy I read this and loved it.
