Ich bin hin- und hergerissen, wie ich das Buch finden soll. Einerseits konnte mich der Schreibstil überzeugen, andererseits kann ich mich nicht mit allen Einstellungen der 5 Frauen identifizieren. Aber eigentlich muss ich das auch nicht, es würde mir nur gut gefallen.
Es war interessant zu lesen, welchen großen Einfluss die Frauen, teilweise unbewusst, auf das Leben der anderen haben. Und wie sich ihre Leben immer wieder überkreuzen. Die verschiedenen Lebensentwürfe könnten sich teilweise nicht stärker unterscheiden, die Einstellungen zur Liebe auch nicht. Die Freiheit, eigene Entscheidungen zu treffen, überfordert die eine mehr als die andere. Den Bezug zum Mauerfall während ihrer Jugend, der im Klappentext sehr betont wird, konnte ich jetzt nicht erkennen.

This book was wonderful. I really found myself looking forward to read this. Saying that, the writing style was pretty simple and a lot of the novel was fairly cynical when it came to love.

Unglaublich langweilig und wirklich nicht empfehlenswert. Die Charaktere sind blass und öde. Jede einzelne ist nur damit beschäftigt sich selbst zu bemitleiden… Hinzu kommt ein sehr deutscher und unangenehmer Umgang mit Rassismus und rechten Strukturen.

women’s fiction just thoroughly entertains me and i enjoyed reading about the characters messy lives. i wasn’t blow away but it was quite enjoyable.

This story is about five German women who are having difficult relationships with their significant others, parents or friends.
Somehow the book made me feel that the author was patronizing women and blaming men for losing interest, cheating or having conservative views about how a woman should act and behave. I felt that the author was trying to feed me some feminist ideas which made me sceptical.
On the other hand, I liked how the stories of five women who seemed to be completely different intertwined in the most unexpected places. The writing was good, just a bit tilted.

Paula, Judith, Brida, Malika i Jorinde - pięć kobiet, pięć historii, pięć miłości. Każda inna, każda uwikłana w swoje problemy, gdzieś jednak przecinają się ich drogi. Paula i Judith się przyjaźnią, podobnie jak Judith i Brida, Malikę i Bridę połączyła miłość do tego samego mężczyzny, a Jorinde i Malikę więzy rodzinne.
Daniela Krien przeplata i przekłada losy kobiet niczym warkocz, obracając je wokół mężczyzn. Mężczyzn, którzy w efekcie nic nie znaczą, którzy potrafią tylko niszczyć i bruździć. Niezależnie od męskich postaci, miłość kieruje życiem tych kobiet. To ona ma wpływ na decyzje i koleje losu. Nie są to decyzje racjonalne i najbardziej optymalne, ale najlepsze, jakie mogą podjąć w danej chwili. To jest powieść o życiu, o uczuciach, o stracie, samotności, niespełnionej miłości i tej chwilowo spełnionej. To rozważania o tym, ile można znieść w imię miłości, ile poświęcić i ile warto jej poświęcić.
