I thought it was interesting that they already knew Gabriel was there, and that he lived in the mirrors.

The story is pretty straight forward, but I enjoyed reading it.

I HAD FUN. I love ghost romance. Ghost romance is a good time. Structurally, it's an incomplete book. I'm one of those that needs an explanation for the paranormal, or some lore. This had no lore that didn't come out of the horse's mouth, so to speak. It's fast-paced to a fault at times, but listen: ghost romance. It is a very nice time if you don't think too hard.

Good novella, but falls short -- because the focus has been given on parts of the plot that I felt didn't need to be expanded on -- such as the old crush, Owen.

And the epilogue, while sweet, didn't quite answer my questions; only danced among them.
SpoilerI'm pretty sure that it meant that Gabriel was now solid instead of a ghost?

Ghostly goings on!
A light, funny, poignant read that is well written so that you are routing for the ghost all the way!
A small but perfectly formed group of main characters, all adding something to the levity and seriousness. I loved Gabriel's mischievousness. Elisa's practicality and support was grounding. Nate I wanted to hug but also slap once or twice!
Suitably snowy and heartwrenching, though I did feel I didn't know enough about Gabriel but so glad for second chances.

2.5 stars. A nice holiday story that's easy and lightweight. I wanted to know way more of the why and the how of Gabriel's situation and how the ending worked, but maybe this isn't that sort of story. It's a cheery, low-stress, easy holiday book, rather than a paranormal time-travel adventure. The romance seemed a little thin as well. This is pleasant, but it didn't really grab me. I wanted more. I'm totally in the minority here, but this just wasn't for me.

A light, sweet story of a man who owns a B&B, haunted by the ghost of a previous resident from a hundred years before. Nate enjoys his time as a hotelier, and although he's a bit lonely, the presence of the resident ghost is almost like having real company. Gabriel is stuck in his ghost form, and makes the best of it by a bit of mischief, often in aid of a try at matchmaking. Keeping Nate company is one of his favorite things.

Then an old flame of Nate's arrives at the B&B, right as things are getting more interesting for Gabriel. As Nate tries to figure out whether he's interested in getting back together with Owen, Gabriel tries to figure out how the end of his hundred-year curse is going to turn out.

The biggest magical questions get a bit of a handwave at the end here, not really explaining how it works out. That makes it a more satisfying story if you're reading for the relationship and less if you're caught up in the plot details. But as usual I enjoyed this author's characters, and all the touches of humor. I was quite willing to ride the story to the end, and only a little frustrated to not be able to put all the pieces together in the resolution of the HEA. This is a warm, and sometimes funny holiday story.

I enjoyed this. I liked Nathaniel and Gabriel a lot and I liked them together. I appreciated the emotional complexity of the returning crush and how Nathaniel dealt with it. The whole thing is nicely written and enjoyable to read. I did wish it was a bit more bulked up so that it had enough pages to explain Gabriel's situation more. The existence of a redemptive task with objectives and rules also suggests the existence of a judiciary. I wanted to know how that worked. All in all, however, I'm pleased with the read.
