Dani and Zaf's cynic-meets-romantic romance is probably my favourite the Brown Sisters trilogy! The fairly straightforward plot (the uber popular viral moment leads to fake dating trope) only highlights what Talia Hibbert does so ridiculously well - characters! Academic Dani is a perfectly blend of intellectual badassery and emotional insecurity, while anxious former rugby player Zaf is just... well, let's just say I was willing to donate him bone marrow by about page ten. This book totally proves that in the hands of a great writer, you don't need lots of external obstacles to the HEA. I genuinely wondered if their two internal conflicts would keep them apart right into the end.
Bonus points for Dani being bi and Zaf being a Romance reader<3

This did not do it for me. I LOVED the first in the series and gave it 5 stars, but “Take a Hint, Dani” felt repetitive and was difficult to even finish. If I was capable of stopping a book without finishing it, I would have put this one down half way.

Loved the characters - they were so well crafted and amusing. Storyline was good - would be a perfect beach / plane read. Nice love story.

“Feeling is always worth it.”
I really appreciated Zafir’s emotional maturity but Dani’s lack of it drove me a little nuts. I get that was her whole character flaw but it got really exhausting to rinse and repeat her drama.
I will always go absolutely feral for a “just once, to get it out of our systems” microtrope, and appreciated Zafir’s reflection of how flawed that thought process is. 😂
I feel like this book could’ve (and maybe should’ve) ended at 80%. Not much happened past that point that really changed the story, it was just another commitment-phobe freak out that ended the same way the first one did- a happy ending.
It was a fun, fluffy little romance, with a little extra heart.
