So many times through this book I was like, "what am I listening to this for?" But in the end, I was like, "actually, I quite enjoyed this book"

If I could do half stars, this would get 2 1/2. This book was good, but not great. I enjoyed the storyline enough that I wanted to finish it. But the premise was just odd. Maybe it’s just not my normal type of story… I enjoyed it enough, but I wouldn’t necessarily encourage others to read it. 12 days is a long time for me to take on a book.

This was a breath of fresh air. Heartwarming, funny, and I love the little alien.

Great blend of sci-fi, dark humor, witty if not laugh-out-loud funny observations on human behavior, and insightful truths about what it takes to live on planet Earth as a human in a quick, delightful read.

Pretty sleepy throughout…felt like I wanted to DNF a few times, which is rare for me. Some nice messages about humanity in the end, though.

What a gem of a book! An alien explores what it's like to be human and what you get is a story of the paradox, pain, illogic and love of humanity. I love what Matt Haig has done, weaving in humour, satire, romance, science cleverly to touch not only my mind, but also my heart. This is a wonderful and satisfying read!

This book made me feel more grateful to be alive. I could start this book immediately over again and gain more and more from it. A quick short read with enormous depth to it and character development. Don’t think with a book this short that you will not feel like you know professor Andrew Martin because you will get to know him deeply as he is getting to know the human form of himself.
Matt Haig is such an amazing writer!
