👑 Hidden Royal
🪄 Fae, Dragons & Magic

Kerrigan is a half-fae who was abandoned and left at the steps of Draco Mountain, destined to be raised in the House of Dragons. At 17, each student is to be selected by one of the 12 tribes and enters into Society, but everything does not go as planned when none of the tribes select Kerrigan. Now, she is left to be accepted by one of the houses by the end of the Dragon Tournament or serve the House of Dragons for the rest of her life.

I was quickly pulled into Kerrigan's story and her relationship with her loyal friends & allies. I did not want to put the book down once I started. House of Dragons is an exciting first book in the Royal Houses series, and I can't wait to continue with the next book, House of Shadows. I also highly recommend the audiobook version. I am giving House of Dragons a rating of 4 / 5 Stars.

World building was lacking, you're just thrown into the world and hoping you can caught on.

I liked it! I will definitely read the sequel. I took away a half star because of the ending. I just don't like cliff hangers.

WoW, just WOW! It does not often happen to me, that I would read one book in one day/night. I started at 7.00 pm and ended at 1:15 am same(following) morning. It was so so so good and catchy. I wanted to go sleep but then "one more chapter" ended with last chapter :)

As for the story - finally some world where Fae are main positive characters. Catchy dialogs, intriguing characters, not boring looong descriptions. It was so easy to read :)

Yes, I definitely like this one and I am so happy I selected it yesterday for reading :)

4.5; This was such a great read! I feel like this is the start of a new favourites series for me.

I loved Kerrigan and her somewhat reckless ways but most of all the way she just gets. things. done. She's so determined and kickass but also straightforwardly accepts her fears and vulnerabilities and I definitely feel that's another kind of strength. Fordham is also a new favourite - such a broody boy and his wariness of Kerrigan's antics is rather amusing. The two of them together have such a great dynamic and I really love this slow burn situation. It was a really nice, realistic development of two people who had misconceptions of each other but were able to be openminded and learn to trust each other. I especially appreciated the way they didn't push each other into anything and were really respectful of each other's personal boundaries but I'm also sooooooo anticipating the escalation of this relationship.

The ending really set up for a great next instalment and I will definitely be waiting in excitement! Highly recommend House of Dragons for anyone looking for a solid fantasy read!

So I’m not big on fantasy books. They are not my cup of tea and I normally will not willing pick one to read unless it is HIGHLY recommended. This changed with Linde’s Ascension series. I devoured each book as it was released. Naturally, when I heard she was going to write another series and it was along the same lines, I wanted a shot at it. It does not disappoint! Once again, Linde’s writing is magnificent. I’m also working my way through the audio version and it’s even better. I’m so excited to see what she dreams up next!
