Ok, took awhile to get into it, but got exciting toward the end, ends with a cliffhanger, will continue the series but not rush through it or buy it.

Glass Houses is engaging from the moment you read page one. Morganville is a college town with a deep dark secret, there town has a lot to be wary about the town is ran by vampires who offer protection to its citizens. For an early admitted student named Claire she stumbles upon this when she makes an enemy out of one of the Morganville citizens named Monica who is set out to destroy Claire leading Claire to the Glass house and its residents.
No matter how many times I read this book I will never get tired of meeting the members of the glass house they are amazing each single one of them living as misfits in the town. You have Michael who mysteriously gone during the day, Eve the friendly Goth and Shane the sarcastic but protective one. Claire’s character develops more as she moves into the Glass house and she develops as a character who becomes courageous, smart and cunning as she lives in dangerous maze of Morganville.
The characters and storyline of Glass Houses had its hooks in me the moment I finished Chapter One. I love this book the characters are amazing in which any person who don’t feel like they belong can relate to them whether it as Shane, Claire, Michael or Eve. The story line is fast paced filled with kindness, mystery, destruction, arson, and vampires. The end of this book nearly destroyed me when I read it if I hadn’t read the books before.

I like my main-female characters to be strong, have a strong will, stick with their gut feeling, don't back down easily and has a fire in there belly just oozing to escape.
Claire was none of this and less.
You know the begining was great, a bullied braniac sets foot in a house that may (or may not) be owned by a vampire, the girl Eve is a vampire wanna-be, Micheal is H-O-T hot but untouchable and then there is Shane, dreamy dreamy Shane who is a sexy man who at times treats Claire like a child and at other times like a lover.
But from there everything just went to hell in a handbag.
Claire who has no thoughts of her own tries to be a "big girl" and be all bad ass which ends up almost destroying everyone. Like even I seen from a mile away that certain people you just CANNOT trust.
I was quite disappointed with this novel. Though I did make it to the end, thats a positive RIGHT??

My sister in law gave me pretty much this entire series to read so I am reading it. This wasn't awful but I wouldn't say it has the best writing. It is marketed as Young Adult but I very much get the Teen section vibes from this book. I kind of liked how it was just explained as "yeah there are vampires" like that's completely normal and everyone just goes....oh okay! My favourite phrase is "fang banger" and from now on all romantic vampire books shall be known as fanger bangers.

I hadn't read this in like 15 years and I forgot how much I enjoyed it. It's such a fun and easy read. A definite pallete cleanser.
