I also love that the third act breakup was not "unnecessary" and that it followed the flow of the book. Also, the crumbs we get of the other couple's relationships was unmatched.

Vivian Lau is trying to make her family happy when she agrees to an arranged marriage with billionaire Dante Russo, but he’s not happy with the arrangement at all…until they get to know each other a bit more.
I loved the Twisted series and was so excited to start Kings of Sin, and I’m glad to report the first book did not let me down! I truly feel like Ana Huang’s writing has only improved with each book of hers I’ve read since Twisted Love, and the way she handles tropes and characters is so fun and engaging.
I started out a bit slow because I was new to the world (even though these are a companion to Twisted it still felt different) but once I got pulled in I was HOOKED and I breezed through the rest of the book in a few hours. Also, the groveling at the end? *chef’s kiss*
I can’t wait to start King of Pride soon!
Recommended to anyone, but especially if you like: engagement of convenience; forced proximity; enemies(ish) to lovers
CW: Violence, including gun violence; emotional abuse
Graphic: Gun violence, Violence, and Emotional abuse

Would’ve been 4 stars if not for the weird feel of the pacing. The first 20% felt rather fast, and then the middle section was a bit of a slog to get through.
Current theories for the rest of the series include Sloth being Luca’s book, Envy being Christian’s and Gluttony being Sloane’s. I’m not sure about Lust yet.
Representation:
- Chinese protagonist & side characters
- Filipina-Chinese side character

There are a few consensual, variably explicit sex scenes in the second half of the book. Dante’s grandfather died just prior to the story’s start, I believe via cancer. It’s mentioned multiple times, but never in detail. Other content warnings from the author’s website include blackmail, parental neglect, family disownment, and robbery at gunpoint. The last is only one scene about half through; no one is shot.
