Down to My Soul showed a little more of the dark side of the music industry, the fans, and the way some people acted to get ahead. However, Kai and Rhys were both great, even when they didn't fully trust each other.
They both had pretty heavy baggage from their childhoods, and sometimes reacted before thinking.

Out of this I really enjoyed how earnest Rhyson was towards Kai and their relationship.

The only reason I can't give this more than 3 stars is the miscommunication factor. I was honestly having a hard time with the pace of growth for Kai's character and how long it took the conflict to come out and as well as how abruptly it seemed to be resolved. With the way the book ended I can't imagine what a third book would necessitate.

Dreadfully slow start after the fireworks from Book 1. Into the 3rd quarter of the book things really picked up! The character development had dept and I enjoyed the ending.
Still HATED the narration, especially the male voice.
Not sure i’ll read Book 3, I think this was a nice way to go out.

Very short message: This is really better than the first book, much better flow and conflict but with how they end it that now I'm reading the 3rd book, I can say that the ending is not flawless, the ending is abrupt. I thought it would be expound more on the book 3 what really happened but I realized the book3 wasn't really meant to happened and only happened due to reader's request for more. So book 2, not so great. It could have been better if the ending was explored more or tied with more details on the conflict before the HEA.

I hate to admit that this is my first Kennedy Ryan book. I know, I know. But, it won't be my last. Down to My Soul is the amazing conclusion to Rhyson and Kai's story. And, what an epic love story this is! Kennedy is a wonderful, beautiful writer. The words just pour from her heart onto the page and lodge deep in your soul. It all started with a lie. Something Kai can't forgive so she walked away. She knew deep down inside that wouldn't be the end of her and Rhys, but she did it anyway. It didn't take long for their paths to cross again and Rhys wasn't going to let her go again. He was going to do everything in his power to get his woman back. Kai is keeping a big secret, one she's hoping to solve on her own. She just needs more time and time is running out. Will Kai decide to ask for help before it's too late? Can Rhys forgive Kai after he finds out? I love this story. I cried big, fat tears. I laughed and I was sad when it was over!

He dips his head, looking up from beneath the dark brows in a way that tells me I know exactly how I’m looking at him. Like he’s a wall I want to scale and devour everything on the other side of. That’s how it feels, assaulting me without warning. The desire to reclaim, repossess him.

5 Soulful Star’s

I loved book 1, I didn’t like how it ended only because well you have to read it. I am so thankful I got to go right in to this one. The narrators wow, I can’t say enough good things about how they brought this book to life.
The ways they complement each other, I just loved it.

Rhyson, oh I love him but I want to smack him, how did he think she was going to react. Men I have to shake my head. I know what he wanted to happen but it blew up in his face and now he is dealing with the consequences, I feel for the guy I do but a little suffering never hurt anyone… right?

‘Deep Calls out to Deep’

I am just going to randomly put quotes in. Yep so deal. ;)

Kai, I think what she did was the right and wrong thing; I think when you make emotional discussion things fall through the cracks. You can feel her pain in this book. It’s in the narrators words and voice. So it must leap off the page.
You can tell staying away is painful to her but she thinks she is doing what is right. And sometimes our hearts and heads don’t see eye to eye.

‘I live you.’

I also feel the best things in life are things we fight for, so I am glad how things end up working out. But mostly I am glad Kai got to heal from her mother and from her father. Even if just a little bit.

‘Even when we are apart we are together.’

Is it wrong that I loved getting to see all the parts of Rhyson in this book the struggle, the groveling, the love and the pain. Does that make me a little evil if so, so be it. This was one heck of a book.

‘You’re not my ex, you’re always.’
