Overall I liked the premise of this book, but it didn't especially live up to expectations. I truly understood the perspective of the central character, Lee, but I didn't think that he was given enough credit by the end of the novel. Obviously the series can be continued, and most likely will be. The other characters, especially the newly introduced ones were a breath of fresh air, especially the Danyal. It was nice to meet someone besides Glorianna Belladonna who speaks to Ephemera. And isn't her love interest. Lee's love interest did take some getting used to, a three-person one-body as a love interest? I didn't know I had moved into Science Fiction rather and Fantasy. Silly me. Regardless of these things I was enjoying the book. However my largest issue with the novel was the last 1/3. It was a very short and abrupt ending to everything. Yes, the resolution worked, but for everything there wasn't enough. You don't really learn what is going on in Tryadea, or how Lee and Zhahar will work out. And Belladonna/Glorianna is still a mess. I don't know but I was expecting that there would be more information given at the end of the book, about how Danyal changed his landscape and how Lee got back his island. Sad to think that the end was shortened to make way for the next story. Who do we even have left? Caitlin Marie? Teaser?

Not the best one in the series, but it was nice to go back and visit the characters.

DNF @ page 102. The worldbuilding in this third book is even more convoluted and repetitive than in the first two, and it's got a serious case of Talking Head Syndrome--I felt like this first hundred pages were 90% dialogue.

I liked the second book less than the first, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised the third book is even worse.

Anne Bishop tells deep stories with heart and soul. She crafts worlds as magnificent as they are treacherous. Her characters tend to leave indelible marks on the minds and imaginations of her readers. A perennial favorite.

Satisfying conclusion to the Ephemera series. The newly introduced race of the Tyrads was fascinating and kept me thinking and pondering.

I thought the first two books in this series were better. This book seemed to rehash a lot of the background given in the first two with explanations of how different parts of the world were linked, how individuals moved from one landscape to another and how certain individuals had the power to manipulate these landscapes. Lee was not as strong or as sympathetic a character as the main characters in the first two books. The Tryad characters were the most interesting in this book. I found the relationships between Sholeh Zeela a Zhahar fascinating. One of the best parts of this book was the novella The Voice. If you do find yourself reading the paperback version of Bridge of Dreams that has the novella at the end read this first.

This was really sweet, if wacky. If you like Bishop, you'll probably enjoy this.

"good but..."

I'm not sure if it's because it's been so long since I read the last book or if they story is a bit different from the first two but I didn't quite enjoy this one as much. Not bad, but not quite as good. I think part of it is I didn't like Lee quite as much as Gloryanna or Sebastian in their books. That said, if she wants to write another one I'll more than likely read it or listen to it as the case may be

Holter Graham always does a great job.

Not as heart stopping as the first two but I still really enjoyed this book, like every other Anne Bishop novel. I hope she writes more books for the Ephemera series!
