This was a cute albeit long and dragged out story. I liked that it was set in [a:Penny Reid|5997227|Penny Reid|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1548811001p2/5997227.jpg]'s universe. I got a brief look at Nico and Elizabeth from [b:Friends Without Benefits|52142521|Friends Without Benefits (Knitting in the City, #2)|Penny Reid|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1563159080l/52142521._SX50_SY75_.jpg|25262256]. That was about all that I liked about it. I won't be continuing with this series. Part of the Kindle Unlimited catalog.

Not as fun and light-hearted as I was expecting it to be from the synopsis, and I certainly was not aware that one of the main characters would be dealing with a cancer diagnosis - there were no warnings cautioning readers of this sensitive topic. Unfortunately, it just wasn't an enjoyable read for me.

Sussanah Nix writes great characters, who are older than typic romance leads, which I love.   High school friends/crush come together after life and previous divorces, she runs a yarn shop and he’s still trying to figure out is life and professional plans.

I enjoyed this story a lot even though both main characters annoyed me. Neither one was open and honest with the other and chose to hide big things from them. Like I understand their way of thinking, why they did it, etc but I still didn't enjoy that. I like that it was an "older" couple (not in their 20's), but...they both annoyed me at times.

I enjoyed Nix’s previous novels and also like Penny Reid’s universe, so I thought checking this one out would be great.

I loved that this book focussed on people that are just a bit older. It is a second chance romance with both people feeling a little unsure about themselves in a relationship. This deals with some serious issues and approaches them respectfully. I just felt this was a little to short for me!

Audiobook. Library. This was just not my cup of tea. It felt like I was reading about my mom (although the MC’s are actually younger than my parents). I also really couldn’t get past the totally avoidable “conflicts” where if they both had each said one extra sentence, the issues would have been avoided.

I'm so torn on what to say about this book. While I did enjoy it, I think that the synopsis is a little misleading. IMO the synopsis makes this book seem like a light and fluffy second chance romance between older MC's and it is all that, but also there were trigger warnings all over the place and it was extremely heavy. Without getting into too many spoilers, pretty quickly into this book the heroine finds out that she has cancer. While I am not typically triggered by cancer in books, this one felt a little jarring and I was not expecting it at all. As far as the rest of the book, it was enjoyable (but some plot points I did feel a little let down by in the end, especially Mike's mom); I love that both MC's were older, and being I sucker for a second chance romance I love that Dawn had a crush on Mike in high school. I love how Mike handled the cancer diagnosis once he found out and I really liked the knitting aspect of this book. I would say that it did have all of the things I love about romance in it, it was steamy, sweet and had some funny moments. I was a little worried going into this book because I kept hearing that it was set in the Pennyverse and unpopular opinion here, but I did not like the only book I've read by Penny Reid, but it turned out that it didn't really matter.

Not a bad book, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone so less than a 3. Honestly I don't know the point of this book. I was hoping for more knitting, that Mike was gonna take get into it, but there were two scenes with him knitting and that was it. Also I would like to see more about his mom and him healing together

This book was one of my favorites. Love that the main characters are a couple in their late 40's. I laughed and cried reading this and the characters really draw you in.
