You guys, I didn't really love BANYAN MOON all that much and then I heard the author refer to it as a "southern gothic" in an interview and suddenly everything made sense. And now I might have to read it again someday with the right expectations in place.

3.75★: A MULTIGENERATIONAL, MULTICULTURAL FAMILY SAGA. This book was just out for a few weeks when I listened to it — and a debut novel to boot. I liked the blend of historical fiction and modern times, with a mystery between them. I did capture one quote that still makes me smile:
“This is what happens to women living alone. You’re all growing strange. Speaking in riddles... soon your hair will get witchy.”#ExplainsEverything
