I loved having Brett Booth join in on pencils, and the variety and quality of the artwork throughout the entire volume was memorably diverse. Jae Lee returns to form on his contributions, and as always, the insane level of detail that Kenneth Rocafort brings with him adds a photographic quality to the entire story.

I also enjoyed the over-the-top stories, but the book was a bit strange in the telling. I'm all for a good allegory or social commentary, but the structure of the volume in its wildness got away from me a bit as I struggled to determine which threads of previous plots were continuing and which were resolved.

It's a different look at Superman and Batman than the other books that DC is offering right now, but Jae Lee keeps the fun alive in this good-looking but uneven collection.

The writing on this was a bit too meta-twee for me. Then there’s the art, which is just all over the place. Plus half the book is sideways, which is that cutesy thing they do when they’re out of decent ideas. (Looking at you, [b:Absolute Batman: The Court of Owls|25241794|Absolute Batman The Court of Owls|Scott Snyder|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1452248400s/25241794.jpg|66461211].) This didn’t do it for me, clearly.

Didn't really appreciate the sentiment that gamers who play violent video games = violent people.

Also, even not knowing a single thing about releasing video games it should be easy to surmise that alpha testing comes before beta.

[a:Jae Lee's|12738|Jae Lee|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1383510120p2/12738.jpg] art style has really grown on me though. Bad thing is I read this simultaneously with [b:Worlds' Finest, Vol. 4: First Contact|21532175|Worlds' Finest, Vol. 4 First Contact|Paul Levitz|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1411931617s/21532175.jpg|40860532] because the story goes back and forth (annoyingly) between both volumes and it was actually super jarring to go from Lee's art to another artist's. Lee's is just so unique and I think it really fits the Bat-Fam's series because it just looks ... darker. More menacing.

This page in particular really made me wish he did more Batman comics:

The Batman/Superman story was good after the ridiculous Game Over story, but I ended up liking seeing them with Huntress/Power Girl more.

so once more, a little confused because the whole time line stuff. BUT LIKE CLARK AND BRUCE ARE CLEARLY BEST FRIENDS. they are such losers. and I really loved Huntress and Kara of the other world because the showed the best of THEIR Bruce and Clark.

The Game Over section was okay, but this Huntress/Power Girl duo is not interesting.

Muddled story and some god-awful art consign this to the 'Please stop it DC' pile. Shame as there's some moments of brilliance. Some.

This volume follows two different (yet sort of connected) story arcs. The first story was cheesy and over-the-top, reminiscent of the early 90s comic stories. A new artist was used for this story, and the art was overdone and non-cohesive with the art style we've seen thus far.

The second story was much better, following Earth-2 Huntress and Powergirl's meeting with Batman and Superman. The story is more enoyable if you've been keeping up with the World's Finest storyline, but works just fine on it's own.

Overall the writing in this series seems inconsistent, and the use of numerous artists with vastly different styles can be distracting and confusing. However, I'm interested enough in the Batman/Superman relationship to keep reading for atleast one more volume.

I love alternate universes. I still want to find this universe with Batman and Selina married but hey these glimpses are still cool.

The first half with the video game and Warworld was ok. But the second part with Power Girl and Huntress really made this great. Wonder if this same artist also worked on the Dark Tower prequels because it was a similar style. Interesting learning Power Girls origin.
