This was crazy and I did not really find it erotic. It was a mishmash of things put together that made me snort. I did not like the
Spoilerdrugging and rape
and it was just not believable that she would be fine with that.
The language was annoying and although I thought the idea was interesting, it did not match Laurann Dohner's species books.

I saw an IG reel and it got me interested because I was feeling in a stalker/territorial kind of mood to read. The pissing on the perfume was a bit questionable, but considering it was about a monster, I was aware what I was getting myself into.
All in all, I think this is something I would read as a fic with my favorite ship. It would have been a quick read if I didn't keep putting it down cause I just wasn't vibing with the characters.

This was absolutely amazing

This story is very triggering! So i suggest reading the content and triggers before jumping in!

Creed went through so much! I feel for him! Demi is awesome! I’m glad she didn’t hate creed for what he did. He truly thought what he was doing was the only way! I’m really happy the sleep kink was still played out! My favorite part honestly! The whole dragon egg birth then hatching was a cool twist! I definitely want more of it! I ate this book UP! It was great! Definitely recommend!

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Creed was kidnapped by scientists who have been doing experiments on him for who knows how long. When the DNA experiments they were doing finally take hold and he becomes the monster they were trying to create, he kills them and escapes.

Something is driving him in a particular direction. And even though he doesn't understand it, he knows it's his mate. But he's terrified she won't accept him because of how he looks, so he stalks her and hides while protecting her, killing for her, and taking from her what he can while she's unaware.

REVIEW:

When I saw January Rayne was writing a new series that takes place in the Shallow Cove universe, I was so excited! I have been loving her new Shallow Cove paranormal romance series, so I was on board for more!

This was definitely...different. It's well written and all, but it might just be a little too weird for me. I mean, I like to read a lot of fucked up stuff, but I'm not necessarily into monster romance, which is essentially what this is.

We've got all kinds of strange going on, from multiple tentacle penises (on one guy), so gray scale-y skin, forked tongues, and the real kicker was when she gave birth to an egg! Gah, it's just too much.

There were some kinks my sick mind was all on board with though. Loved the somnophilia and dub con. Loved the knotting and the vampire bites. Loved the stalking and psycho obsessive tendencies.

I also loved the cameos of Hell's Harvesters, who we first met in Carnival of Creeps. So cool! I really want books for them.

But a lot of the monster stuff just wasn't for me. I think if he could've at least shifted to look normal in public I would've preferred that. Or it would've been even cooler if he could shift into each form individually on demand. That would've been super cool. I don't even understand how him and their son will stay under the radar with how they look.

Overall it was well written and certainly interesting to read. But just a little too monster weird for my tastes.
