Honestly, I could not make myself finish this book.
I got half way through and just decided to call it a day.
It's a frustrating book, and it's so all over the place that half the time you don't even know what's going on. The descriptions and detail in this book were table, as was the plot line.
I could read a million other books about witches and they would be better than this one.

This book gets no ratings.

Should I be scared to try and read this authors other books?

This is one of those books that I objectively didn't really enjoy, but also desperately wanted to know what happened. Still torn on whether I want to buy the sequel.

Very wish fullfillmenty.

I didn't even finish this book. The plot itself was an interesting concept, but I absolutely hated the main character Jessie. I enjoyed the other characters and the actual game of Red Queen, but these other enjoyable aspects of the book weren't enough to distract from the not-so-greatly written main character. I was happy when Jessie was in danger and highly disappointed when nothing came of it. I had no desire to read a book where I hoped the main character perished. Maybe Jessie gets better as this book/series moves along, but those thoughts weren't enough to make me keep reading.

It started off decently but got so confusing and just forced after the first third of the book. I almost didn’t finish it but decided to make myself.

Christopher Pike completely enthralled me once again. I have been a fan since my very early teens and will never tire of reading and re-reading his books. The characters are easy to connect with and you can't help but root for Jessie and her friends. I found this book to be an excellent start to a new series and is enticing from the very first page onward. It is written in classic Pike fashion so if you enjoyed any of his previous novels you will love Witch World.

Thank god I've finished this book. So the first like 200 pages were ok, but then he just added a bunch of unnecessary things. Also the writing was so bad like ugh. Also the main character was so annoying like the first page she talked about how pretty she is. Also how her baby is so much better then kari. And then she became like a killer like no regrets like ok.

I read this for free on Pulseit! This isn't the best written book I've read, nor the most exciting. But it was very intriguing and I loved the concept. What I loved most about this book was the pace at which information was revealed. You get just enough information to not get too frustrated, but you really know very little. Then slowly over the course of the book you are fed small bites of the secrets and workings of Witch World. Even by the end, I was satisfied with the conclusion, but then I remembered so many little details that were left out. And now I'm hooked. I'm curious about so many things and anxiously await reading the sequel. I think Jessie is a complex and interesting character with enough flaws to seem real and relatable but not too many to disconnect from her and not care about her struggles.
