They way this book ended was upsetting because I wanted know more about what happened after. But sadly the book has to end somewhere. The way the book went was great and it summed up the book nicely.

"There was going to be a reckoning here tonight, both sweet and terrible."

Allies

I have really enjoyed this series. It was a fast, fun read. Not much to have to think about, and while parts of it may have been cheesy or too 'easy', I still loved it and was definitely what I was needing to read right now.

The action was revved up even more. There is a lot of strategizing, running, hiding, and fighting in this one. I love how much Anna has grown throughout the story. She's so easy to underestimate and that's to her enemies' detriment. The side characters are all in depth and they are hard not to get attached to. Higgins also isn't afraid to make some hard choices of taking some of those characters away from us and forcing them into some pretty tragic situations which definitely makes the idea of this war more believable. The group becomes this sort of family all bonded together and it was amazing to watch all these personalities and people who didn't have any friends or family meld together to form this ragtag group of heroes. That's my favorite part I think. The Dukes that they are up against are despicable. I love how grotesque they come off and the evil they are prepared to do since it makes me want Anna to take them down even more.

Enemies

I would have liked to see the final confrontation stretch out a little more, but overall the action was really good.

He said...She said

Some will find the romance incredibly cheesy and may even be shaking their heads or cringing a bit in parts. I adored the partnership between Anna and Kai and though it was all a bit cliche, it worked for the story in my opinion. I enjoy the relationships that happen out of two people who don't like each other at first (though they may be wildly attracted to each other) and grow into that all-consuming love. They went through their whiny and jerk periods and they had a lot of cute moments in this final book.

And we all stand firm

Definitely a good series. The concepts involved with the angels and demons are original and interesting. Anna is a strong heroine and her group of side characters are simply amazing. The romance and action parts are a good bonus. It was quick and easy to read and get through, and though it may have had it's flaws it was great for me. Definitely recommended.

There was not one moment in the final book of The Sweet Series that I did not enjoy. From beginning to end the characters showed us what they were made of and fought with everything they had. I want to leave this as spoiler free as possible so I will just pour out some of my main thoughts and feelings.

The characters have grown SO much in just 3 books. The final book was the best of all. I loved how Anna and Kaidan are able to pull off their deception. I loved the way their relationship grew. I loved seeing the other cast of characters help and band together. The final showdown was nothing short of spectacular. It was everything I hoped it would be and there are a few shocking moments that left me with a huge grin on my face. There are a few heartbreaking moments in SWEET RECKONING but war never comes without loss.

The very end of SWEET RECKONING truly melted my heart. The characters have all been through so much and seeing that very last glimpse of them years past their troubles was just amazing. It was definitely what I would consider a happily ever after.

Reread January 2018. So, for some reason this book (and the other two) only had 3 star ratings, which I'm WAY confused about, because they're AMAZING! (Although that was like four years ago, so time has passed and I'm a lot more mature, I guess?) These books are the perfect mix of forbidden love, paranormal heaven-hell action, and growing up and finding yourself. On a reread, 4.5 stars for all 3.

ON EDGE.

Keep on edge of my seat?it sure did!
normally,in a paranormal romance, the story is sooo concentrated on the couple that it leaves a beautiful plot that could make great story as just some background environment, but this?this was just plain magic.
Anna is on the last leg of her journey on incinerating all the fallen angels from the face of the earth when the duke of lust sends the love of her life KAIDAN ROWE to annihilate her.
this was such a beautiful book that i've actually read it a total of six times and no sign of stopping.
Granted this doesnt have have a whole lot of twists and turns but this wont stop u from finishing the book at an ungodly fast speed and yelling" GO KAIDAN!!" pr "YAY ANNA"
IT SURE AS HELL MADE MY DAY!

I'm always apprehensive to read the final book in a series because usually doesn't live up to the hype. Because I love this series so much, my hopes were in overdrive. But I must say I didn't love it as much as I thought it would. The first 2 books were EVERYTHING, but this one fell a little flat for me. What I loved most about the first 2 books was the angst between Kaidan and Anna. In Sweet Reckoning, there wasn't really in angst because they were together...now don't get me wrong. I want them together....but for me the build up to a relationship is better than the actual relationship in books for me. I dunno. But I still gave it 4 stars because I love the series and characters as a whole. I will miss Kaidan's British sexy ass and I will miss all the characters.

I think this series ended exactly like it should have. Very happy with it! I'm really going to miss these characters though! I can't believe it's all over!

Oh this book fell so far so fast...I really don't understand how this series has such high reviews. I wanted to stop reading so many times, but I just can't not finish a book so I literally forced myself to read it.

This story is literally about how one girls "pureness" will rid the world of demons. And by pure, of course the author means a virgin. And just in case you forget that at any point in time, don't worry, it was mentioned on almost every page. Basically the fate of the world rests on her virginity.

I'm sure you can imagine my face right now.

Also are we really supposed to believe that this group of children can take down the Dukes of Hell? I mean, I know it's fiction, but come on.

Warning: there will be spoilers after this point because I don't feel I can actually get across my feelings without saying what's happened.

This series seemed to follow the Twilight theme of innocence. The books focus heavily on the wanting sex and how that's unpure. In order to get around this, the author has the main characters get married (she's 17) because then it's right in God's eyes - and then they're free to have all the sex they want (because OMG that's all they can think about after). Then we have another couple, neither of them are the "pure" chosen one but are stained with demons, so of course when they have sex the girl gets pregnant - at risk to her life. Can you hear the life morale's happening?

Another Twilight-esqe theme: sacrifice, or lack of. There is supposed to be a battle, like a huge battle between a group of teenagers (ok some are young 20-somethings) and the Dukes (full bodied demons) and yet, there's no real loss? Oh we got fooled into thinking there might be, but no, everyone has to come out perfect and happy. Cause that's believable in a war.

And for God's sake, STOP ALL THE F**KING TEARS. The amount of crying in this series is just ridiculous.

Honestly, there's a lot more wrong with it but it's just making me angry thinking about it.
