I started this book with a little trepidation as I didn't want to to ruin the previous book. Luckily I need not have worried as it was as good, if not better than the first. You MUST read the first book before reading this one but it's most certainly worth the read once you have. The whole place and the situation is beautifully described and it's easy to imagine your a fly on the wall through the good and the bad times. Highly recommended.

Writing this review in English in the hopes that the author might read it.

As in the previous book, the atmosphere and the characters were lovely, and I really wish that La Cour des Roses were a real place that I could visit. However - spoilers and tw rape ahead - it's an absurd plotline with Alain's "dishonesty" regarding the attempted rape. The victim shaming reaches another level when he's given the responsibility of acting correctly after that dreadful event, and why did you think it was reasonable that he should need Rupert's forgiveness for it? Do better next time, please.

A really nice summer read. Full of interesting twists and turns. I was not expecting the ending!

I loved The Little French Guesthouse, so I was excited to see there was a sequel. I had just finished reading Behind Closed Doors, which was completely stressful and scared me out of my mind, so it was perfect timing to have a relaxing read.

Emmy has moved to France to pursue her new career as the manager of La Cour des Roses, helping Rupert recover from his wife's sudden departure (with Emmy's boyfriend). The job is a little more involved than she expected, especially when she finds out that they have a large anniversary party coming that they knew nothing about.

The guests bring their own set of issues - and embarrassments for Emmy and Rupert to deal with, all while dealing with a new romance for Emmy and Rupert's broken heart.

We got to know the supporting characters a little better this time around, and I kept waiting for the realtor and Rupert to get together - maybe the next book?

This is just plain feel-good, chick lit. The book that you curl up under a blanket on a Sunday and read, read, read. Total relaxation.

First came The Little French Guesthouse, then came Return to the Little French Guesthouse! It begins a few days after Emmy's return to La Coeur des Roses, the villa she had accepted the role of manager for. She has quite a learning curve since the person doing much of her job before her left abruptly and she has never worked in the hospitality industry before.

Despite the dialogue that left much to be desired, I couldn't stop reading once I started. It wasn't an entirely joyful read, as most of it is a comedy of errors of sorts surrounding La Coeur des Roses. It is a quick, fairly light, and entertaining read that will make you really want to book a trip to the south of France. There is also a wide array of supporting characters that you can't help but love: Rupert, Alain, Sophie, Elle, and Jonathan. They almost need their own spin-off!
