I feel like there is a certain type of British humor found with certain authors. I came across it with Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Found it again with Douglas Adams. There is the tinge of absurdity to his characters and premise that makes me smile as I read. I loved Dirk's constant war with his secretary and his frustration when he doesn't know something. The Electric Monk was confounding and a little sad. Even a horse had its own distinct personality. A puzzling mystery wrapped in absurd humor works for me every time.

After 32 years on this planet, I think I just read my all-time favorite book. I wish it was something more important or literary but...there you go. Perfect.
