I love Kathy Griffin so there wasn't any doubt I would love this book. I think listening to her read it was the best decision, she's a hilarious gal. The book was funny and insightful on several points of her life. There were a few sad moments like you'd expect in anyone's memoir but Kathy makes it all flow and comical. I had no idea she originally dreamed of being an actress and not a comic, comedy comes so natural to her so I found it shocking.

Kathy Griffin told Jesus to suck it. Who else can get away with something like that? I generally don't like memoirs, because I think people tend to gloss over the bad times, but KG definitely does not, and I respect her more for it. Definitely a read for those who like Kathy's style of humor--she changes nothing in this book!

Funny, sharp, and surprisingly personal. Also surprisingly touching in points. Kathy is a polarizing comic, but if you like her, her stand-up, and/or My Life on the D-List, you'll enjoy this book.

I remember recommending this book to someone and getting a totally negative reaction because they thought Kathy Griffin was broad comedy. Personally, I always found her ok/enjoyable as a comedian but reading this book I really admired her. She is not afraid to speak her mind or name names. I know the celebrity stuff is in the book to sell copies but she's never inappropriate, just shares honest experiences. There are times when she comes off sort of... self-centered? I guess. I.e. thinking that Spielberg has carried a huge vendetta over a comment she made or the Steve Martin story where he just wasn't talkative and she makes it like it's a personal huge slight... Maybe it was, but she leaves out the fact that before the break, the story she told was about how she went to his house and left notes before she was famous, which... awkward. But overall I really enjoyed it!

I can't help it. My guilty pleasure when it comes to books are celebrity biographies and memoirs. And this was the perfect book in that category. It went all the way back to Kathy's childhood where I learned about her pedophile of a brother, she struggle to stardom (and all the famous people she worked with then), and the horrible demise of her marriage. She went back and forth from serious to laugh out loud funny. Some people find her annoying, but I find her very entertaining. And after reading this book she just seems more human and less celebrity crazy to me.

I read this book really slowly because I found it wasn't as hilarious and juicy as I expected since it's Kathy Griffin. It was a side read that kept me busy when I was bored. It was interesting but not enthralling. I expected a little more. Maybe I just read too much fiction...

Very funny and revealing, as entertaining as The D-List. I usually hate memoirs, but this one was great.

I like Kathy Griffin, so it was fun to read her book - I especially liked reading about her journey to stand-up and the developments in her career and she worked for recognition. I like reading about process - the steps people to take to achieve or create. If you're a fan, you should definitely have this on your reading list.

Fun and trashy, exactly what I expected and I couldn't put it down. Such a guilty pleasure
