I loved this book. The poems were striking and stirring, and I often found myself asking whoever was around me if I could read a poem or two to them so we could talk about it. Loved having both the Spanish and translated English poems together.

I don't even know what else I can briefly say here. I'm probably going to write about more about it and when I do, I'll come back and add to this review.

I loved this collection of poetry, but I would’ve rated it higher if the poems that entailed the poet whining about being called gringa by her peers were excluded. it read very self-pitying in just the worst way 🙄

I did love how this was written in both spanish & english, it was really great practice for me to relearn the language.

“The larynx is a necklace of lost beads where my voice doesn’t echo inherited phonemes.”
