I hated it. And WTF another cliffhanger? Damn I should have known!

And I can't believe I'm saying this, I really hated it.
.
.
Don't get me wrong I didn't hate all of it, some parts were good but some just sucked!
.
.
I'm gonna tell you which is which:
.
.
"Nothing can kill a mood faster than having your cock in some chick's mouth when the woman you love is calling"
.
.

Hook. Line. Sinker. I was thinking when I read the first line of the book, like I was seriously bracing my self for whatever will happened next.
.
.

What happened next were pretty much two teenagers who didn't know what to do.
.
.

First let's talk about Deacon, I actually loved him . He definitely knew how to make Frankie special, until he started putting his cock into the wrong place. I hated the way almost perfect (almost) at first to being a jerk an ass. He kept saying that he's in love or what ever but his latter actions shows otherwise.

At one point he even had someone blow him, knowing that there's a probability that Frankie might walked in. WtF? I was forgiving, given the fact that they weren't together then, but that was a big no, no for me. You can confess to a girl, tell her you'll wait for her at your place, then have another down on your dick! What really blew me over was when the confrontation happened, I was not expecting him to sugar coat it but have some heart you jackass!

But then again, he's so real and broken. He's earned everything and during the last parts of the book, I'm thinking how he doesn't serve Frankie.
.

Now Let's talk about Frankie the Princess. God I hated her the moment she kissed him back. God! Calm your nerves! You just got engaged. I was willing to forgive her when two months later, after avoiding Deacon at all cost, and being beaten up while trying to leave her fiancé. I was ready to forgive her, but then she pulls this I need space bs, with the knowledge that Deacon is in love with her, keeps this Rico Suave Chirstiano at bay waiting for her. What? She had no problem refusing deacon's advances but she can't say no to Christiano?

And girl, give the guy a fcking break, just commit to him and see if he'll do the say. You're not the only one who gets hurt!

And damn girl you and you're double standards, you're fuckin flattered and tempted when some fuckin Rico Suave is tryin to kiss you? But your worried about deacon having fling coz he's thinking you're with Christiano? F- U!

I Really hate you!
.
.
Okay so to the part that I liked!

"Even when she won't fight for us, I'll
Go to war for her."

Well needless say I liked the first part during the party and the hospital scenes.

That's it!
I don't know if it's the authors goal to make me hate Frankie, cause if it is, she made a very good job of it. It was so frustrating to read that I had to stop and collect myself, multiple times. I was waiting for her to grew on me but she didn't.

I should probably praise the author for the attachment I felt when I read the book. I wish the next book is better.

Yeah! You should probably read this! I recommend that you do.

I loved parts of this and was trustrated at others. What carried the book for me was Deacon. His mouth was fire. I hope in the next book, that more focus is put on the motivations of Drew and why he did what he did to Frankie.

A Decent MMA Romance

Enjoyable first book to this duet. This story follows an MMA fighter and his love for his best friend. They've gone through a lot and have had their ups and downs. The story is a good one, I do feel at times though the writing doesn't flow as smoothly as it should. Deacon is also quite angry all of the time.
I'm hoping he can get his act together as well as Frankie for that matter

No punches were pulled (pun intended) in the raw emotion that floods this story. Add in the spice, a family that loves hard, and best friends, and you have a recipe for a story I could not put down.

Is it wrong to want to call the author an evil hag? Quite possibly but let me explain.

Not only did Mandi Beck sucks me into the "best friend is in love with her and she doesn't know it" story immediately. But she made me cry out of heart break and despair.

Then she gives you a wonderful whirlwind love story...but what she does NOT do. What she forgot to mention is that she isn't done messing with your heart, hormones, or your instinct to fight.

So is it nice to call her an evil hag, no. Does it make me feel better- sadly no. Do I really think that of her...nope. But FYI, she gets off on drink the tears of her readers. - She told me that herself. She failed to mention that she was going to ruin my day with the crazy unanswered questions too!

Seriously, what the heck!?!
So in short, Mandi Beck rocked the story, kept me entertained, did not do what I thought, and left me hanging for book two...Love Burns. I salute evil Queen Mandi. I will bow down because I know I have been beaten.

Also, I totally got book 2.

If you have the chance do the Amazon Whisper Sync. It's totally worth the ability to switch between book and audio. More of an on the go friendly and the voices...hmmm yeah. Wen can growl in my ear all day long!

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

Love Hurts is the first book in the Caged Love series by Mandi Beck, but it is also her debut novel. I have to say that I was really impressed with her writing, and you couldn't tell that this was the first book that she has written. I am really looking forward to more in this series from her, especially after the ending of this book. I will tell you that there is a cliffhanger, but the book was so good that I am glad that I went ahead and read this one now rather than wait for the next book. I definitely can't wait for more of Deacon and Frankie though!

Deacon "The Hitman" Love has been in love with his best friend for as long as he can remember. They grew up together and have been close their whole lives. When he finally decides to tell her how he feels though, Frankie isn't sure that she is willing to risk their friendship for a chance at more. Deacon might have been in love with Frankie for years, but that hasn't stopped him from being with other women and plenty of them. Frankie loves Deacon as well, but she refuses to end up just another one of his girls and destroy their friendship in the process. But Deacon isn't willing to give up on her, and he is willing to fight in and out of the cage for what he wants.

I really liked Deacon and Frankie, but I will also say that they both had moments where they made me mad. Deacon had wanted Frankie for years and everyone knew it but Frankie. I don't really understand his reasons for never doing anything about it or saying how he felt. It just never really made sense to me. I also didn't like that he was so weak when it came to other women. Even after he told Frankie about his feelings and was trying to get her, he was still with other women. There wasn't any cheating and he was faithful when they were together, but I didn't like seeing him with other girls when he was after Frankie. I really could tell how much he loved her though, and he would have done absolutely anything for her. Frankie had been through a lot, and I could understand her reluctance to just jump into something with Deacon. She was confused and Deacon's feelings caught her off guard at first, even though I don't know how she had no clue of how he felt. But she was strong and smart, and she was a fighter just as much as Deacon was. She was able to go through something horrible and still come out strong. But I didn't like that she was so resistant to Deacon throughout this book. She was saying that she loved him and clearly had feelings for him, and yet she kept him at arms length when she found out something she didn't like. These two were smoking hot though, and I really enjoyed the passion and chemistry between them.

I also thought that Frankie's keeping Cristiano around was bit overdone. She wasn't interested in more with him, and yet she really never set him straight. It seemed as though she almost kept him around just to get to Deacon and I didn't care for that. Especially since she was so jealous of Deacon's past girls. I felt like if she really wanted Deacon to give up the girls that she should have been willing to do the same and let Cristiano know that they had no chance. It just felt a bit too much considering that she didn't ever discourage how physical she let him be with her, constantly touching her even when they weren't working together. I really like Deacon and Frankie together though, and I honestly believe that they are meant to be together. They have such a strong connection, and a great base for a relationship. The ending just about killed me, and I really need to know what happens next. I will definitely be picking up the next book as soon as it is out, and I look forward to reading more from Mandi Beck in the future.

Emotionally charged love story filled with all of the hurt, angst and emotion that you would expect from an alpha male who is a cage fighter and the powerhouse heroine locked in a small frame. I truly enjoyed this story and cannot wait to continue the saga in the next book. Mandi Beck certainly doe snot disappoint with these two characters!!

Sweet Baby Jesus! Deacon is so fucking dirty. Filthy mouth! No filter whatsoever! He's so rough and sexy and an asshole but I love him. Like he has a man bun, a beard and tattoos *heart eyes*

I love how he's this big tough bad boy but is super caring and loving to his loved ones especially Frankie. He runs to her when she needs him the most. He's always there protecting her, looking out for her and that warmed my heart. The way he was basically broken after Frankie's incident had me wanting to hug him and not let go.

Can I just say that Frankie frustrated me half the time. Girl!!! Stop being mad at him for something he did BEFORE y'all got together. It can bother you but you can't push him away for a mistake that happened BEFORE he was with you. It's like she started pushing him away and I was like "NO NO NO DONT PUSH HIM AWAY JUMP ON HIM" But I liked her because she had this sweet side but she's bad at times if that makes sense haha. Her dirty talk was hot!

This book will have you swooning, hot and bothered and even frustrate you but it's all worth it. This book is 95% his POV which makes it awesome!
