ok.(Iā€™m not sure Iā€™ll read the rest)

The book had decent writing I will give it that but some of the intimate moments between the Characters were odd. Some are noted in my notes. Now letā€™s Get Strapped in there are a lot of MCā€™s.

FL(Haliee)
In my personal opinion this fl was boring and had no real substance. We saw specks of her struggle with running away from the antagonist her entire life but never really delved into her feelings and their substance. Also her being able to flawlessly defend herself was a slay but with out the background and hardships of it the point seems kind of useless.

ML 1(Lukas)
He the dad out of the group, he is considered the sin of pride and yet you donā€™t really see that reflected in his character. You see the need to control and possess. Heā€™s the best with Haliee even though I feel like that will shift within the next books. His backstory is skated over and I donā€™t love it.

ML 2(Torren)
Now torren is the first ML we get to see in the book and I definitely thought he would play a much larger role in the book but he had his couple chapters and faded completely into the background. Heā€™s the Sin of envy but again we donā€™t see that personified at all in the book.

ML 3(Mathias)
Another one of the MLs I thought would be a bigger player in this book but again he was not a faded into the background. Heā€™s the sin of sloth and the only reason heā€™s considered that is because instead of action he watches? Ok? Like give me something because he seems the most proactive in the group.

ML 4(Creed)
Creed is the Sin of wrath and his backstory is delved into partly giving him more substance than most of the other MLs. His ā€œsinā€ is definitely showcased throughout the book and he seems to be the only one whoā€™s sin is an active part in their character. He was the worst ML in the group because he doesnā€™t care for others permission. He shows this multiple Tomā€™e with the FL.

ML 5(Corden)
He was the sin of lust and we saw sneak peeks but he completely loses his edge when it comes to the FL. His backstory is explained but without his twins backstory it doesnā€™t give a lot of substance to his character.

ML 6(Barren)
His sin was gluttony and we saw not an inch of that in this book it was extremely disappointing and he had no substance besides be in love with the FL.

ML 7(Oliver)
I will say personally Oliver was my favorite ML. He had depth and character outside of the existence of the FL. Heā€™s the sin of Greed which was displayed but, couldā€™ve been a lot better than how it was displayed. He was good with the FL and honestly held the group together better than Lukas(who was supposed to do just that).

Overall, the MLs lost their minds and characteristics when the FL was introduced fully into their little group. There was little resistance to her indoctrination into their group and I feel like the author couldā€™ve built something substantial to give purpose to there being multiple sequels. Again the writing was decent. I like the antagonistā€™s writing as he is just evil but doesnā€™t think he is and I love to see that in antagonists because it makes their defeat ten times better. The ML besides ML 4 weā€™re careful with sensual moments with the FL and I can deeply appreciate that. The spicy scenes were written well.

One of the guys raped her. The rest of the book was getting pretty close to my limit, but that just really put it over.Ā

3.5 stars.Ā

Ā

ā˜… ā€“ didnā€™t like/DNF

ā˜…ā˜… ā€“ was okay, but I probably wonā€™t look for any sequels

ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…- was good, Iā€™ll likely read the next one

ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜… ā€“ I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great and Iā€™ll definitely be looking for any sequels

ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜… ā€“ I loved it so much Iā€™m adding the paperback to my cart right now

So I had to knock a star off immediately though. Why? Okay so iā€™m like two chapters in and already i have to say. Witness protection doesnā€™t work like that. For one the FBI might request WITSEC but the US Marshall would take over, the FBI wouldnā€™t know where they are. Their only point of contact knowing their location, new identities and original identities should be the Marshall handling their case and definitely not make the local police away because and as is the case if thereā€™s any corrupt cops it compromises the persons safety. The fewer people who know the better.Ā

The only way i can see this being somewhat credible is if (and if iā€™m correct ill hide with with a spoiler)
Spoiler the FBI agent is dirty and didnā€™t actually go through WITSEC but wants Haliee and her dad to think theyā€™re in witness protection. Alright so it isn't confirmed but I'm still yagging it as spoiler cause like there's no way he's not dirty.

I'd you can get past the inaccuracies of witness protection (it's more like police/federal protection) then the story gets interesting enough that I'll probably read the next one.

something is missing.

I think there was so much world and character building and time hopping that there wasnā€™t enough interaction with and between the characters.

Hopefully the next one wonā€™t be like that since itā€™s all been laid out in this book

Obsessed

Yeah Iā€™m obsessed with this book, the characters, the plot. Itā€™s all so amazing. I normally donā€™t go too dark, but I decided to try this.I was not sorry. The characters alone make it worth it. There is development with the characters, but more with the plot. The pace was a little fast, but it flowed well.

This is a dark read (though, there is a small amount of comedic relief with the characters banter.) On the run and in hiding from becoming someone's sex slave, Hailee and her father find themselves in a small-ish town and working with the local police. One of whom is assigned to the task of playing babysitter. Once he meets the beautiful young woman, he has no complaints. Neither do his six other brothers. The seven of them take on the role of judge, jury and executioner when it comes to people who tend to hurt women and children. Known to the locals as the Deadly Seven (though supposedly no one knows their real identities.) Each of the seven has a unique specialty which helps them in their crusades. While the book is centered on them all keeping her safe, what really keeps you interested is how the relationships form between Hailee and each of the seven individually, and as a whole. Yes there is sexual content, and mention of things that have happened in the past that may be triggers for some readers, including non/dubious consent, and abuse. This book is suitable for mature readers. It is part of a series and ends with a cliffhanger. It alternates between the POVs of all the key players, but each change is clearly labeled so not confusing. If you are more nit-picky, there were a few editing errors. Nothing that throws you off though.
