3.5/5…A decent adaptation, but it really breaks no new ground. Maybe re-reading it so close to a re-read of the source material, and near the halfway point of seeing Rebecca Ferguson bring Juliette to life on Apple TV leads it to suffer by comparison.

While I read--and loved--Wool Omnibus, this graphic novel just couldn't do justice to such a meaty book. Sent in six parts, I found myself anxiously awaiting each chapter, but feeling as though each was somewhat lacking after reading them. I do believe this would be better experienced after reading the full-length novel first.
-------------------------
Part 1 - 3 stars If you haven't read the novel, this graphic novel will be very hard to follow. And the illustrations were just ok, and not nearly the quality that I had expected. I will update my review after subsequent deliveries, but for now, I'm a bit disappointed.

Part 2 - 3.5 stars - Part 2 had a better flow than Part 1, but overall, this graphic novel is not on par with the novel.

Part 3 - 4 stars - The story is speeding along, and it was condensed in a way that was easy to follow. I'm still not fond of the art, but at least I'm getting used to the flow.

Part 4 - 4 stars - This was a meaty installment, giving enough detail to be able to easily follow along.

Part 5 - 3 stars - We are nearing the end, and the story is wrapping up fast. I liked this section in the novel more so than here.

Part 6 - 3 stars - What a quick ending!

A really good short novel, a very unique plot, and I liked the characters. I felt sorry for the fmc, but she was also a badass who saved her people. Will look out for more in this series.

Great artwork. Shotgun scatter of a story. Wiping away all of the nuanced storytelling of the original novel, clunky dialogue which is all on the nose and barely any opportunity for subtext.

500+ pages into about 100? Simply does not compute. But hey, if you're feeling lazy and want a quick run down, go for it.

It does an injustice to Wool, it does an injustice to the comic medium. It could have been much better if Jet City (Amazon) allowed this to be longer.

Thoroughly enjoyable

First graphic novel on kindle I've read in awhile
First one that actually worked well in the format
Art was stellar and text was clear and easy to read throughout

I struggled with this as a novel and never finished it but this was a more fluid version of the story and caught me from the first pages

Also at $2 it was an amazing bargain

Siento que he leído un resumen de una historia mucho más larga y de personajes complejos que me gustaría explorar más. Ese sería el motivo de las 3 estrellas, pues, por lo demás, la línea gráfica y la narración e historia me gustaron mucho.

Conceptually this is a great story, but the pacing is off with jarring jumps in time from page to page especially in the early going. I didn't realize until I was finished that this was even an adaptation (of a best-selling series of novellas that I hadn't heard of), but in retrospect that partly explains the stilted storytelling when compressed into single issue comics. I love the idea of these massive underground silos with the last batches of humanity, so I'm looking forward to reading the original source material some day soon.
