You know what? I'm just really glad that this had a love interest that wasn't obsessed with being a "man" and actually allowed himself to be vulnerable. Thank you.
Edit 2023:
Listen. Is this book trashy? Does it rely too heavily on miscommunication? Are the MCs kinda dumb? Is the premise outlandish? Is the relationship kinda toxic?
Yes.
Did I still love it?
Also yes.

Kirsty Moseley keeps surprising me. Every heroine she writes has worst background and prospects than the last.

I loved it!
Emma and Carson are such a cute couple š. I loved reading them together.
Now the only reason it loses half a star is because of Carsonās reaction to the secret, I definitely think he could of handle the situation better but I think he made up for it.

This book had such great potential. Kirsty Moseley is one of my go to authors and has been since The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window.
Poles Apart left me a bit underwhelmed.
Spoiler Alert.
I hated that Emma was allowed to work in a strip club at 16. Hated the unplanned pregnancy. Could not understand how Emma's parents, so disparaging of Emma would then allow her to become guardian of Rory. And how in the hell can a man come into the home you share with a baby under 2 on an unplanned visit not be confronted by baby evidence? No high chair in the kitchen? No pushchair in the hall? No sippy cups? No toys? No photos? It didn't make sense. Even the tidiest person in the world will have evidence, it was a tiny flat with no nursery room to hide it all in.
It missed a trick for me.
I feel callous with my rating, but it just wasn't that great. I would have gone 2.5 but rounded up.
Sorry Kirsty, I still lurve you.
