Such a stupid misunderstanding. My least favorite Lauren Layne book. [Nah, the title still belongs to Love Story lmfao.] The writing was still great, though. Maybe if the book had been longer, I would have sympathized more with the main characters. I understood where they were coming from, but I still wanted to smack them both.

I do get that this is only a novella to introduce the Wedding Belles trilogy, so I'm hoping that it will only get better from here.

I received an e-ARC copy of From This Day Forward from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

So this is a sweet short novella that kicks off the Wedding Belles series by Lauren Layne.

Leah McHale is a wedding photographer and when her friend Alexis asks for a favor to help photograph the former first daughter’s wedding she jumps at the chance. There is just one tiny catch, she’ll have to work with Jason Rhodes, the man who broke her heart a year ago.

I adored this story and read it in one sitting. Leah and Jason have some communication issues, but they’re sweet together. They both have to decide what they really want. I am looking forward to this series and to seeing more of Leah and Jason.

I loved this novella! It can be hard to connect to the characters and feel for them in a shorter story, but Ms. Layne did a wonderful job in making me feel both the pain and the affection in this second-chance romance story. I was able to get a clear sense of both Jason and Leah, and how passionately they were connected in the past, along with the pain they’ve suffered over being apart the last year. There’s an instant hate/love connection between the two photographers, and the cat and mouse game that ensued created a delicious tension. It was all so well developed for being novella, and had me feeling that ache in my chest along with the flutters. This story was the perfect amount of sexy, sweet, and fun…the fun being getting to know Jason because, dang, I really liked him!

It’s the perfect prelude and introduction into a series about wedding planners with Leah and Jason both working as contractors for The Wedding Belles, a highly sought-after wedding planning company. It has a great written flair that only Ms. Layne can pull off which made it entirely easy to get into and read, and has me very much excited to see the secondary characters we were introduced to in their owns books.

"Mr. Rhodes. Are you telling me you believe in happily ever after?""From this day forward, I do, Red. I absolutely do."

This was a sweet, short and quick second chance romance. Jason & Leah share a past, one where Jason broke Leah's trust and her heart with just one misunderstanding but she ran away before he could explain. Now a year later, they have to work together for capturing the photos in a high-profile wedding of a former President's daughter. Will they reconnect or will their egos interfere again?

From this Day Forward by Lauren Layne is the prequel to her new series, The Wedding Belles. I love a good wedding series and I love the way Lauren Layne writes with humor and sexiness. Wedding photographer, Leah has been asked to work the former First Daughter's wedding, she's thrilled. This job could make her career. Until she sees who she has to work with. Jason. Her ex. The man who she thought was going to be the one. He broke her heart and she's still not over it. Jason wants another chance with Leah and he's determined to make her want him again. Will working together bring them back together or make Leah run away again? I loved this story. It's short, sweet, hot and funny. Great start to a new series!

To remember what it had been like when they could talk for hours, the way he could make her laugh…and yes, maybe the way his cinnamon flavored tongue had tasted, the way it had felt when it trailed down her neck and lower…

This was awesome! It was short and sweet and packed a punch. I loved it! Great introduction to the series.

I really liked Leah and Jason. I enjoyed the story of their history and was invested from the start. Great animosity happening and so much chemistry between the two. Loved the sexual tension that was building and really loved the anticipation of them reconnecting again.

I thought it was a well rounded, fast paced novella with an excellent story and writing, interesting characters, a bit of drama, emotion, and heat. Perfect combo!

I liked the other characters that were introduced that were part of the Wedding Belles making me excited for what’s to come next in the series. This was my first Lauren Layne book and it will not be my last. This novella was the perfect way to be introduced to a new-to-me-author because I definitely want more.

3.75 Cinnamon Stars for this short 100 page novella about 2 wedding photographers who fell for each other, had a serious misunderstanding, and are now working together on the biggest wedding of their careers. The flames that once burned Brigh are still there, but so is the hurt.

I read this 100 page story in one sitting. It's an easy to read story of two wedding photographers with a past that just won't leave them alone. When they are forced to work together on a high profile wedding, they realize that maybe things aren't meant to be done between the two of them.

As far as romances go, this one was cute. Nothing too deep or special, but an endearing story nonetheless. When a story is so short, it can be hard to get to know the characters. I felt like there were entire back stories that I didn't really get, but I still was amused and entertained.

What did I think?: I hadn't read anything by this author before, but had read a few reviews raving about her work. I'm not gonna rush out and get other stuff by her, but she's on my radar now.

Who should read it?: If you're looking for an easy to read story of this sort, I recommend picking it up. It's a great read for a rainy Friday night or Saturday morning.
