Check In (Bobbins Sisters Series Book 2) by Debra Parmley

4 out of 5 Stars

Leann Bobbins has had her share of drama.  A couple of years ago when she came to Barlett to visit her sister, Leann’s stalker wannabe boyfriend kidnapped her cat and followed her to town and then attempted to abduct her.  Thankfully that did not happen.  Leann is finally moving on from that incident when she meets Len Yardley, a local police officer.

Len feels almost instantly protective over Leann.  They develop a quick friendship that is leading to more.  All in part to their daily check in calls.  This was something they decided to do because they didn’t always get to see each other due to scheduling.  When Leann misses one of the calls, Len starts to worry.  He calls her.  Leann finds herself in trouble again.  Will Len be able to save her?

A sweet, delightful short story!  These Bobbins girls just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.  The author does a great job of incorporating strong veterans into the stories.  Looking forward to getting to know the 3rd Bobbins sister!

Where to start....This is book two in Bobbin Sisters series and this is a very fast paced, action packed book. You first meet Leann in book one, Check Out and you start to fall in love with her character and hoping that her life will start to look up. When Len shows up you instantly know that her life is being turned upside down and all for the better. My only complaint with this book is that it ended way too fast. There is so much more story to tell of Leann and Len and I hope that this series will continue.

This book was quite short and the romance was cute. Leann is like a puppy, very excited and agreeable. Len has some past heartache which is addressed and overcome so quickly. Despite having some shady relationships in the past, Leann instantly gravitates to Len which I found to be a bit odd. The main plot twist in the story was also resolved too easily. I wish it was longer and explored the troubled past of both characters more. It felt like mostly pleasant chatter. Enjoyable and quick, but would have liked a little more tension, passion, or drama to keep me invested.

Leann has just graduated college and is about to strike out on her own with a new job in the towns bank as its new manager, new apartment and a new boyfriend, a local cop who works for the Bartlett Police department. After a stressful couple of years and a bit of bad luck, it seems like things are starting to look up for her and when she meets her new boyfriend, she is all smiles and happiness, something she has had in short supply, apart from when around her family and he seems just what she is looking for, meanwhile, he is just as happy to be around her and they try and either talk or message at least once a day around their shifts at work, but one day there is a robbery at the bank and Leann has just one opportunity to tell her boyfriend what is happening, but will he get there in time to stop the robbers, or will he be too late? This is a romantic suspense with sweet romance and danger combined to keep you on your toes throughout while also indulging in the innocence the romance provides.

This was a really quick and entertaining read about Len and Leann. Leann is Betsy's sister. We met Betsy in Check Out (Book 1). Their story is pretty simple and romantic. Two people with hurts that fall in love. Len is a pretty straight forward fellow who tries to make sure she is treated right. I loved how the book was written. A happy read that brings two through challenges to realize how much they love and care about each other. Almost a "Hallmark" moment. I highly recommend you check out this one. A quick weekend read for those cold weekends when you are stuck inside.

I devoured this book quickly. After a couple bad relationships, Leann Bobbin meets a new guy. He wants to show her how a woman should be treated. I found this to be a very sweet story that reminded me that we should not take less than we are worth in a relationship. I really enjoyed that their relationship started with “boundaries”. Len doesn’t want to be a stalker so decides that he will at least send a text every night to make sure she makes it home every night. Not returning that text, is what set Len into action to try to save her. I enjoyed this book very much and look forward to more from this author.

This romantic suspense really kept me on the edge of my seat through the majority of the book. Full of drama, suspense, mystery, intrigue, and more this author really knows how to hook her reader and keep them reading until the final page. While this is the second book in this series the chatacter development is fantastic for this short novel. While I found the characters to be fantastic I found the plot to be dramatic, suspenseful, and overall intriguing. The bank heist is intense and will pull you in as if your trapped in the bank with our main character Leann during a bank robbery. Even though Leann is pulling put all of.the stops to survive, will she make it? Will her new police officer boyfriend Leonard be able to save her? You'll have to read this second installment to find out.

’d like to start off by saying I work at a financial institution and when I discovered this book I was super interested. I wondered how the robbery would be explained and if it felt real or like a fake robbery you see on tv. The robbery was tastefully explained and not usually how they go but it was heavily implied that the robbers were not sober which would lead to them not thinking about their actions. I really enjoyed how each character was introduced and described. Hearing from both Len and Leanns Inner voice mail was a great way to explain both of their past trauma. Not going heavy into detail but giving little nuggets or Information so that their actions and thoughts came together. I read this entire book on my hour lunch at work and it made me feel like I needed to pick up the rest of their series immediately.. I mean who needs to clock and back into work when they have a lovely story to read?

At only 68 pages this is a very quick read. However I felt that the author could have done so much more justice to the characters and the storyline if it was made into a full length novel.

The book is the second instalment in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. I would suggest that you would get more from this book if you read the first book in the series as you get to know the background of main character Leann in book 1 which is the story of her big sister Betsy. One thing I did really like about this book was getting to see Betsy and Wyatt again and seeing how they are doing in the future.

In this book we get the story of Leann Bobbin and her new boyfriend Len. I like both Leann and Len as characters and felt that the author could have done so much more with them in a longer story.

As with character progression, I feel that there could have been so much more added to the storyline. Each part of the story felt very short and then jumped to the next section, when the author could have expanded on each part of the story.

I did like the characters and I liked the overall storyline, I just felt that it could have been so much more.
