I literally cannot rate this anything lower than 5 stars. I should’ve known Ashley Poston was going to rip out my heart and then neatly stitch me back up again in the most perfect way. I had to scurry into another room toward the end because I could feel the ugly tears coming and I didn’t want to scare my fiance.Â
It doesn’t get more star-crossed than meeting a really hot, sweet guy is a magical apartment only to realize he’s living 7 years in the past, while juggling a career as a book publicist and the insurmountable grief over the ambiguous death of a beloved aunt, but that’s Clementine’s life. I can even excuse the silly name and the sillier nickname- Lemon- because of how this book made me feel.Â
Content warnings:
Grief, death (on page):Clementine’s aunt was the most important person in her life and she died 6 months ago. She spends the book with that cloud of grief hanging over her head until she can release those emotions
Suicide (off page):The aunt’s death after taking too many pills is ambiguously called a suicide. Clementine can’t be sure if it was on purpose or not but it is described as a suicide a few times
Sexual content (on page):As close to fade-to-black as you can get without actually fading to black. Both sex scenes are over almost as soon as they begin and are easy to skip if sexual content makes you uncomfortable

I cannot describe how much I absolutely loved this book. I don't think I've felt this way about a book since I listened to The Way of Kings and Imogen, Obviously.
I loved Clementine and Iwan together. They pushed each other to be better people and they had great chemistry.
I also loved how Ashley wrote about grief and how Clementine dealt with it. It was so real and poignant and had me crying multiple times as someone who had just lost their grandpa in April.
The premise was so intriguing and I think it was done really well here too. It kept me guessing rather than falling into a predictable mold and I loved that. It made me want to keep reading even more than I already did.
In all this was a great read and I can't wait to read another one by Ashley Poston.Â

It was a fund book to read. however the author had a tendency to repeat herself in a way that suggested she didn’t trust the reader to remember basic key details. i’m not sure if this was the result of missed cuts in editing or if it was intentional, but it took away from the enjoyment of the book. then, crucial moments of discovery were kind of glossed over and left out of the book.  this book has an interesting premise and good thematic potential, i just don’t think it reached it. the dialogue was very funny though and the characters were delightful.Â
Moderate: Sexual content, Death, Grief, Mental illness, and Suicide
Minor: Alcohol, Cursing, and Pregnancy

I really really loved this one. I always go into Poston books blind, I want to know a lil about the premise but like one sentence because I know it will be magical either way.
100% recommend.
Heavy TW for suicide. The actual suicide is not on page, but the MC is going through grief and there is talk about it. So be aware of that.
